Well he was asked about who game the team talk at half time in the Ajax game. He said kane Read them the riot act. Even though Poch has denied that happened on 2 one occasions and denied it quite forcefully and said it was Lloris who done the talking. Poch was annoyed the first time it was bought up. Now Rose has waded in and makes Poch look a bit stupid. If you've seen your boss deny something happened have the sense to stick to the script.

Think you’re reading too much into it. Poch backing Lloris’ role in motivating them. Not a lot more to it.

Papers will write what shit they can. Chuck in the bin, ignore. Move on

I do love his honesty but I sometimes wish he’d have a bit of a filter at times.

It saddens me that he’s been speaking to other clubs. We all know it happens and if the question put to him had been ‘have you spoken to any other clubs’ and he’d answered honestly then that would’ve been fine. Bit tough to take but fine. But he’s mentioned it whilst answering a mental health question, like the fact he’d been speaking to other clubs doesn’t really matter. And it may not matter to him. We all know the interview he gave where he made it clear he believes he’s worth more than Spurs pay him and that he’d happily move back north. But that’s ok, at least we sort of expect it.

Part of me quite likes the fact he doesn’t say the right thing just to please the fans, especially because other times he makes it clear how much he loves Spurs and Poch.

It’s a weird one. Can I personally really deny him one last big move after the years of service and 100% efforts? No. Do I worry sometimes that a sections of fans may not cheer him as much because they think he may up and leave at any point as he sees football very black and white? Yeah, probably. Do I hope he signs a new contract? Fuck yeah.

There’s a thing where someone is just a bit too honest. But with all that said, he’s been one of our players of the year in my opinion having got back to his best. He genuinely fucking loves a tackle, especially a 50/50 and you can’t say that about too many players nowadays. He gives his all in every game. He takes faaaaar too long with his throw ins and that can be really annoying but if that’s my biggest criticism of him then that shows all you need to know about him.

Fucking love him even though I constantly have that feeling that he’ll bugger off sooner rather than later. He may well be one of the players Poch was talking about re ‘a painful rebuild’... really hope not!

Right - but it was pretty common knowledge he had spoken to another club. He was in a far different place in life a year ago. Don’t think there is any surprise when he references that - and he would have been in conversations with other clubs without Spurs agreeing to it

He said that Kane was in the dressing room at half time against Ajax, backing up what Trippier and Sissoko said - whereas Poch has tried to downplay that and has said Lloris was the one lifting the team.

Yeah I mentioned in a previous thread, Poch was not in the dressing room in the first 5 minutes, he said so himself in the interview. I think Poch saying Lloris had last word is being blown out of proportion, sounds to me like they came in at ht, Kane blasted the ****s, Poch gave his talk and then Lloris had the final say.

I agree, but that’s sort of my point too. The fact he wasn’t making a big deal of it almost suggests he doesn’t see it as a big thing, whereas normally if you found out one of your best players was talking to other clubs, it would be a big thing.

It’s the kind of thing I’d like to read about when his career is over. It’s a little unsettling when you hear stuff like that while it’s still raw and happening. But I can’t blame him really, he’s just being honest and it won’t be unexpected if it does happen.

weren't we reportedly open to him leaving last summer though? i don't think it was a case of rose going behind the club's back.

I don’t think he went behind the club’s back or anything like that. I’m sure it was at a stage where he’d not long given that interview and things were frosty between him and everyone, so I imagine Spurs were well aware. But it’s still not nice to hear as a fan.

I’m sure he’s talking about this summer just gone not the summer before when he did the interview.

It's a lovely honest read [better on evening standard site with less pop ups i think]

Just hope they dont get this legends stuff stuck in their heads...play the game not the occasion etc

Rose has been one of our best performers in recent months and shows real passion and a winning mentality.

No way we should be looking to replace, if we get Sessegnon it should be as back up / rotation option and also to play further up with Rose behind him.

Couple of sources reporting he wants to commit his future to Spurs and sign a new contract - I think he deserves a new deal given his recent performances.

Really hope this is true and that we give him a new deal.

Top class left back and IMO would be madness to let him go, even if targeting Sessegnon who is not yet proven fully at left back.

Sessegnon is wasted at LB.
