Quite amazing how quickly he's settled in. Like a seasoned pro and just a boy really in Central Defender years

Could become special

He's started very well but he is still learning.

The one thing he does need to improve on is making cleaner contact on the ball. To often he fails to clear his lines effectively even after winning the initial challenge. Sometimes he just needs to put his foot through it. Thankfully a three man defense and the work ethic of our team means he will not be exposed so often. Players who have regularly made mistakes in our back three, Dier and Wimmer, both struggled at dealing with brining the ball out, lapses of concentration when passing or trying to move up the field.

Sanchez seems very composed on the ball, and has a very sensible approach to it. Essentially he really is playing a bit as a sweeper, using mobility and physicality he allows Vertonghen and Toby to move further up the pitch. At the moment he looks like a very good signing.

Yeah, Jan plays like a box to box mid nowadays haha. His ability to run with ball is soooo under used. His ability to dummy/feint at ease is always fun to watch.

First challenge on the apparent ( according to sky ) 'dreaded' Andy Carroll, Sanchez got it wrong. Fast forward and he pretty much timed it perfectly and won a couple of headers from the 'nightmare' that is Carroll.

Sanchez was fucking loving the battle too. That's the key sign

Carroll was grounded and on the front foot, Sanchez got his timing and his feet wrong and was just about to jump into Carroll as Carroll pushed him. But like you said after that he got it right, He dropped AC a minute or two later

Saw another highlight around 58 minutes AC jumped into Sanchez as he was heading the ball but a minute later Sanchez floored AC again. Good battle really.

When Smith commented that he probably hasn't come across many players like AC in the Dutch league, Tyler replied back that Davinson had said 'Don't worry about me I'm from Colombia' when asked about AC before the game.

Really impressed with him so far, even more impressive when you consider that CBs generally get better with age. . .

Really really impressed with him.

However, in the last minute yesterday he did let Carroll get a run on him and he was caught ball watching. Just a lesson for him to stay switched on until the final whistle or we could be punished. Luckily his tiny push saved him.

But this will come with experience. Massively impressed with him for someone so young.

At some point he will make a mistake so ridiculously bad that it will make him look like a non league defender. Be interesting to see how people deal with that round these parts.

Those still angry we broke our transfer record for a defender will probably explode in into a 4 paragraph post about how everything is terrible and we're all going to die because of an error.

Those who believe he is the second coming of King will remember some error King made similarly and point out it's fine.

I'll use all the different rating icons on here for giggles and irony then wait until all the bad opinions are posted to post my "actually everything is fine just chill" post. (y)

I think we already know how some people will react.

Fantastic signing. A real star for the future. Couldn’t wish for two better players in Toby and Jan to learn from. Obviously Poch wasn’t a bad defender back in the day either. With Rose still to come back we must have the best back 5 and bench in the Prem.

Reminded me of a young Ledley King. He seems to glide about the pitch effortlessly. Good balance.

Been gaggin' to see seen him or Toby at DM. Toby has amazing range of passing that could be utilised, in some games, from right bang in the middle of the park. Jan has genuinely got tekkers and can glide and drive through a team. Both still offering great positional sense, discipline and solidity.

Now that we've got Sanchez, would love to see either of them sit in there in a 4231/433 next to vic/moose/winks/sissoko and see how it works.

Would add to our game.

I predict he will one day become the most expensive defender in world football. Hopefully not for a long time though!

Honestly love the guy,but thought there were a few sloppy touches today. He seems to sometimes fluff clearances almost a bit tentative.Needs to put his foot through it sometimes, but sure he will learn that.Considering he's really been thrown in at deep end,I think he's done fantastic.Just a little bit of sloppy play to be ironed out.But he certainly gives us a calmness and authority at the back.Which is exactly what you want from your CB.Think he may miss Bournemouth as most likely won't be back in Uk till Thursday.Hopefully vic fit so dier slots into 3.

Think he'll be a very good player for us. But Poch really to tell him to stop slide tackling the ball instead of just kicking it.
