Felt sorry for him, he was so good today. The potential he has is immense, can easily see him being classed as the best CB in the world in a few years. Such a great signing and has started his career here exceptionally considering his age and PL experience.

Forget Kane, Alli etc - this is the guy I really think will be heavily targeted by the Madrid's and Barcelona's of this world.

The only positive from yesterday’s game.

At times it was like King Ledley was reborn

This is the biggest compliment I can give him.

The deeply sad thing is that I thought it was a foul to, until the replay, as you don't expect someone to be that agile and 'king like' in a tackle that was heavy odds against to win.

Think it is the type of tackle a Sergio Ramos would get away with, as the referees have a perceptual bias in his favour (the pre-existing thought that he is good enough to make that tackle without foul). Give it a couple of seasons and hopefully referees will understand he can make tackles 99.9% of defenders can't.

Think his signing will prove crucial in getting top 3/4 this season.

A great bit of scouting in identifying such talent. I know he weren’t cheap but it looks like money well spent.
This is what we should be doing. Not scratching around looking for a bargain or throwing £30m at one season wonders. Get our scouts out there, find players that have the attributes they need and spend big on them before its too late.

Was hardly great scouting. Was pretty obvious to anyone that watched EL final he was a player. What is super impressive and quite baffling is how we got him. When you consider other top clubs need for a CB.

If he in your humble opinion is the real deal, how come as you state the big clubs in obvious need of a centre back were no where near him. I think you need to pay more credit to our recruitment team for getting this across the line relatively unopposed.

Can't believe how fast the guy is over the first 5-10 metres or so, when Alexis Sanchez was through on goal twice he showed unbelievable pace to catch him up.

To be honest I remember most of the hype was on his CB partner de Ligt at that time. But I agree with you. Liverpool and Arsenal didn't buy any CB. Man utd went for lindelof

No drama, no fuss and makes it seem effortless. Ten games into his THFC career and he's to the manor born. So excited to see how he develops.
