Still think Kane will fancy his chances against Dav and Mina. They certainly give you some opportunities.

Looked much better next to Mina who is an absolute beast, no idea why he didn’t start first game. As a side note barca are looking to off load Mina due to EU player quota. Could do a lot worse if Toby were to leave.
Mina is not all that great.

It’s weird with Davinson the one ball that seems to give him trouble is the ball over the top. Saw it numerous times last season he seems to have trouble judging the flight and bounce. It’s actually worse when he is favourite to get the ball, almost like he has too much time to think. When he’s 2nd favourite chasing back he actually seems to do better. Saw it in 1st game at World Cup, he was easily favourite for it but dithered got in a tangle which led to Colombia red card. It’s the weakest part of his game and a little bit of a mystery to me why he gets in such a tangle.

In these situations it seems he sometimes focusses to much on the physical confrontation with the player rather than the ball.

Ah, it takes me back to playing CB in Sunday league at Hackney Marshes, where my main role in a game would be trying to judge the flight of another long ball coming out of the sky, sun in my eyes, whilst team-mates everywhere scream, "Don't let it bounce, for fuck's sake, don't let it bounce."

Agree. It's exactly what happened when Rondon scored that goal against us. If he focused more on the ball he may have nicked it but he tried to go shoulder-to-shoulder first and it cost him. He did learn not to be so rash after that though so whilst it's a weakness it's probably an occasional thing. Hopefully England he has a couple more to get out of his system on Tuesday :X3:

Delighted with Davinson Sanchez today. Whilst the Colombian team are being idiots, he hasn't got involved. Sometimes these events show what a player has up top.

After a dodgy first game against Japan he’s been brilliant in every game since.

Thought he was outstanding tonight, and kept his head better than many of his more senior colleagues. We got a good 'un here.

Glad to see Spurs tweeting commiserations @Davinson just now. Nice touch.

He had a solid game for them. Made some decisive last ditch challenges and got a couple of key headers for them. He was a pain for us in truth. Just one close shave where he clipped Lingard, another ref could have given that. He just needs to be careful diving in when he's not close to the ball.

Big Dave was their best player by a mile last night!
Also pretty much the only Colombian who didn’t lose his head.
Top player and going to be world class

He was a true Spurs lad last night, numerous pats on our boys backs, not getting involved in Colombias antics. Proud of him, great defender and great sportsmanship.
