Glad you can see unlike some other posters on here, that I wasn't saying he's awful but what I was simply saying is he's still a bit raw at times today you could see that . But he's got potential agreed.

we just need to calm down on the hype train and let him develop as the way people are going on about him today it will be rollercoaster when he does make a mistake which he will as he learns and gets used to a new league I don't want to see people turn on him or call him out as he's got unique abilities that will take time as with any centre back to nurture.

Have a night off. You're arguing against things nobody is saying/doing and making yourself look dim.

you dont want to see people turn on him, but that's exactly what you've done, without him actually making any major mistakes. Your heart is in the right place but youre logic is wacky.

He lacks some positional sense. Some of us said that about him in the player thread before he was bought. He compensates that with pace. Like Walker
Though in the middle of a back 3 it is not that important, and he's still very young. Poch will probably teach him that very soon.
Considering he arrived from a much weaker league, it was a great debut

Turned on him? I haven't turned on him lol.

Just explaining mate, he's raw he will be an excellent singing but it will take him time to adapt. I will wait to see how he does against the better opposition before I start comparing to ledley like I have seen people doing on twitter.

see if you said that in the first place nobody would have a problem with what you said. But your first post was totally nitpicking his performance for every minor reason possible, without recognizing any of the positives of his display. I understand youre trying to provide a balanced view, but instead you were just being unreasonable negative.
On a sidenote nobody is comparing him to Ledley at Sanchez's current ability, but because of what he could become. No harm in that.

Maybe I should have included the positives but I felt everyone else had outlined them. Was impressed with good he was in the air and he's also obviously got the pace we are lacking and his passing looks very good.

Like I said I do not know why don't know if it was excitement to see him in our shirt or just interest I seemed to watch him closer than most the other players. I liked what I saw did not at all mean to come across as having a go at him, just said I could see a few things that you could see his inexperience but those will iron out as he gets used to the league hopefully.

Yes, well who better to teach a centre half than Poch.

He actually reminded me of a better version of Anthony Gardener who at times was awful but on his day a different animal.

Gardner was a more natural defender than Ledley though Ledley was a better footballer and his training and commitment made him a monster.

Gardner on his day was amazing. Sanchez seems more physical and harder though.

All this talk of getting Danny Rose back is exciting. Imagine a back line of:

1.
2. 4. 6. 5. 3.

It's proper old school

Please note I've only seen the goals on SSN so have very little else to contribute to this thread at this stage. Added with I'm taking a lot of codeine right now

I thought he made a few good headers of the ball and simple passes. There was one moment in the second half he was expecting Hugo to come for the ball, or that was just his way of dealing with it, it gave me a mini heart attack. One thing that I liked is that Vertonghen and Toby made him play in the middle a bit to see how he could deal with things, they were all pretty much on the same wavelength. He was the inferior of the three but a very decent debut and clean sheet

Great signing and great debut! He's 21, was given a start in maybe the most challenging league in the world, days after flying back from S. America. That speaks volumes of how highly-regarded he is by Poch, who is alway cognizant about the need to slowly blood in youth, especially those new to the PL. Yet, Poch had the faith to throw him in the deep end.

He was completely new to his team mates, completely new to the pace and pressures of the PL. I think that versatility and pace he has will give us so many more options which will strengthen our already strong defence and give us more avenues in attack.

Looking forward into the future, the prospect of having Aurier and Rose as wing backs in our first team and Sanchez with more games under his belt is mouthwatering. Sanchez alongside Verts and Toby just means we're so solid in defence, and we'll have so many options driving forward from different positions, especially against the top teams who will find us even harder to break down as a defensive unit, and much more threatening as a counter-attacking force.

Nice easy game for him to settle into, didnt have much to do, but what he did was tidy, efficiencent , were done well. He wasnt given a test today tbf but looked composed give him that, not one to shy away. I understand him being in the middle of back three due to pace and tackling ability, but feel it should be aldweirld still in the middle controlling and marshalling things.

I keep seeing posts about "an easy game for him to come into". I don't agree with this at all. Everton away, your first start in the PL, you're 21, new country and surroundings, no time to get meaningful training time to acclimatize with your team mates. or the pace of the PL, and you've just flown back from a WC qualifier from S. America. He was given a real baptism of fire and he came through! You never know how a game is going to go, and Sanchez played a big part in it going well...on his debut.

Gardner a more natural defender than Ledley ? That's like saying that Janssen is a more natural goalscorer than Kane !
