And that is what should be taken out of this, the signs were extremely encouraging and people don't need to over-analyse his game and point out little errors to try and make a point, he's only going to get better.
I think people are just trying to add balance to those proclaiming him as the second coming.

I'm sure it's universally thought of as a good solid debut though.

It'll be interesting to see if the back 3 that started at Everton will be our main setup this season. From a tactical point of view, it gives the Belgians more freedom to step up into midfield and gives Alderweireld better passing angles. Sanchez' pace also makes us less vulnerable to balls over the top, even if that's something we generally have been negating pretty well.
It also frees up Dier to play in midfield, and I think we saw glimpses of some of his pretty underrated passing vs. Everton.

It'll probably take some time before the back 3 are perfectly in sync, and I suspect the game against Dortmund will give us a better idea of how far off that mutual understanding is, seeing as Everton were absolutely dire.

He's raw but he's exactly what we needed, compliments the other two really well, a killer of a defender.

Impressive talent. A few duff moments, but that was a tough game against an excellent high pressing team.

Promising indeed!

Best complement I can pay him is that it's like he's played in that team for years. Still a bit raw and makes some funny decisions but he's got all the tools to be one of the best around. So encouraging

I have always thought Sanchez would be a good signing, but I still thought it would take some time to acclimatize. But oh my god how good he is already. Absolutely amazing!

Perfect foil for Toby and Jan. Playing in the middle he can cover both. Looks fantastic.

Great prospect and hasn't looked out of place in the slightest. My only complaint would be that he appears, on limited viewing, to have a tendancy to dive in a little rashly at times, though that is probably due to a mix of youthful exuberance and an eagerness to impress.

I really thought we might see a Robben-Ledley moment with him and Auba. Having him central with his pace and athleticism is a really nice dynamic to add to our absolute stalwarts in Jan and Toby.

Very cool character. I watched him boss Jan and Toby which was odd. He seemed very comfortable.
