I'd add to that and say that it was only two years ago where he started to get serious game time for Nacional. If you look at old footage you can see how raw he is and how much he still had to learn. I think it shows how fast he is improving and how far his ceiling really is, whilst displaying how incredibly well he's done to adapt to the Prem. There are a few things to love about Sanchez. His physical attributes - strong, fast, good in the air - are potentially a better combination than any other CB in the league. For a big man - he is very good with the ball at his feet. He also appears to be very coachable - I have noticed improvements in his game from positioning, to making fewer reckless challenges just in the course of this season. If you watch, he also instinctively moves when we have the ball to make sure he is an outlet pass for other defenders and Lloris.
The fact that he has gone from Ajax, and a league, not known for its defense, to PL and taken to the game like a duck to water in his first season is very encouraging for his (and Spurs) future. Add to that - someone had the foresight to get him signed to a 6-year deal - means that he should be here for a long time.
We've done so well in getting him here.
