Probably the worst I’ve ever seen him play was just now V Japan.

Really does need experience next to him because his positioning and anticipation is so bad atm

The 1st goal was a very similar mistake saw few times this season. Tends to dither a bit and get caught out. Remember seeing a clip before we signed him where he shoulder barged some guy into row z. So surprises me how often he gets rag dolled.

I always feel he looks more comfortable in a 3 than a two, he's got massive potential and it's testament to both him and Vertonghen that he had a very good 1st season all things considered but he's not the finished product and we didn't sign him as such.

It's why I really think we should hang on to Toby if possible, Sanchez in between JV & TA would bring him on much faster IMHO but that's another thread altogether.

Another thing though Ospina is pretty much a stay at home keeper when your used to Hugo mopping up some of those balls, I don't judge him too harshly he's young very inexperienced in his 1st game at his first World Cup, slightly naive and some positional dyslexia that should improve with age.

No luck about it. Jan beside him, Dier in front and Pochettino organising the defence. A great environment to learn and grow, make your mistakes and hopefully not get too exposed by them.

Just wanted to pop in here and say I am very proud of our guy for rebounding strongly after a rough World Cup debut and putting together a solid performance today.

We all know he is raw, but he has shown such composure for a 22 year old CB starting the caliber of matches he has. Looking forward to the future.

More because he's been ordinary for them. If he was good they most certainly wouldn't be looking to offload him
