I think this is our challenge. We buy young, develop then when a quality player leaves we have a ready made replacement.

Getting the player ready is a challenge though.

He's fairly good on the ball already. If he has any of our other CBs next to him then he's playing "sweeper" anyway, so he doesn't need to be quite as good on the ball because his job is stopping counter attacks and making challenges as the last man. He just needs to be able to distribute to the nearest player and have the ability to not fuck up under a bit of pressure. He won't be the one to make runs into midfield

He's better on the ball than most CBs. Room for improvement, but playing with Toby and/or Jan is not going to help him stand out in this respect.

The level of depth we have at attacking midfield and CB is keeping us in it this season. Those are the strengths of the team.

Largely pleased with him and glad he'll be a mainstay for years, but still understandably has a lot to learn. Luckily we have a perfect manager for his development.

I was screaming at the TV when he let that ball bounce in injury time leading to that free kick. Why wouldnt you just put your head through it? Infuriating
