2 things here tricky
1. Your post was given a d'oh rating because Yedlin was dismissing a typical media spin and you acted like he was agreeing with it. In fact, now it has 2 d'oh ratings.
2. If there was no chance of him staying Spurs coaches wouldnt be keeping tabs on him since they'd sell him when his value is higher next summer. So clearly, there is a chance he might stay.

Careful Trixy, you don't want to piss off the americans, they will bomb your house and claim you are an international dictator.

You know this for sure? Surely we'll assess how he does at Southampton before that decision is made?

I hope our scouts are not expecting him to play for Southampton every week, and wasting time watching their games. He's up the other end of the country. ;)

Nothing as far as bids are concerned, but if an offer suits all parties he has been told he can go. Doubt it will be till the Summer but Sunderland not interested in making things permanent it seems. KWP seen by MP as the far better option.

If Poch doesn't like what he sees, then fair enough to let him move on. I'd be disappointed personally, but if it's not going to work for him at Spurs then better for him to go.

Was a poor move when we made it for all parties. Surprised he went along with it, but that's what happens when your stock is as high as it can go after a strong world cup.

Still think he's a premier league player, it was just never going to happen for him here.

I'm not sure it was a poor move, more of a gamble. If he could ally technique and discipline to his obvious pace then we might have been onto a winner, not to mention the US angle and how good that would be. If it doesn't work out we sell him on for a small loss. Not every gamble will succeed but I expect to see us pick up more like this over the next few years.

What a stupid fucking non-story (the "roadblock" issue). The press just twist the shit out of anything.

DY is a special athlete, and I predict he will make it in England- but not with us. It's sad, though, since to me, he is the quintessential Poch-type player: raw, unproven, talented, hungry and willing to learn. His issue is that he doesn't really know the game; watching him it often seems as if he first took up the sport of football at age twenty.

I would love for it to work out for him at Tottenham- because an American star (or even just a stalwart American regular) would raise our profile that much more. And make no mistake about it: Yedlin certainly has "star" potential. He's handsome, affable and unique; there's just something cool about him.

As well, his play can- at times- be stellar; no merely "good" or "solid" but rather excellent. That second half performance he exhibited against Belgium in the 2014 World Cup was simply stunning. He absolutely torched Eden Hazard- over and over and over again. That, to me, spoke volumes about him- because it showed that he could indeed raise the level of his game with the world watching. And if he could play like that in front of over 200 million viewers, surely he could/can handle an away trip to, say, West Brom on a frigid Tuesday night in late February.

Plus his name can be modified to "Yidlin." For that alone we oughta give it more time!

I didn't rate him at all after watching a few videos is MLS games - just can't defend well enough for a top team and he lacks the technical ability to become a winger. Doubt he'll ever play for us again though hope he can get a move to somewhere like Norwich, which is gotta be a hell of lot better than having to live in and around Sunderland.
