His body language isn't great at the moment.
It may just be me but it looked like he had the hump with Kane from the first whistle yesterday.
There was a lot of throwing arms in the air when not getting the ball and I'm not sure Alli even went to Kane after his second whereas he virtually dry humped Davies.
He can behave like a spoilt brat at times, I can see him benched soon, he was at this stage last season and that worked out ok
Speaking of body language, Andros Townsend yesterday confirmed just about everything I had heard about his time with us during one match with his.

Lets be honest, as well as Kane is doing .... believe me I don't have a major problem but Kane can be bloody (Defoe like) greedy at times. I also saw Davies having a go at Kane for not passing.

The thing is Kane is scoring so one can't complain but it is also very important Alli starts scoring too so Kane should remember that.

Thing is though, the conversion rate when Kane passes must be nowhere near his own, and a major part of his threat is that he hits it from anywhere and the more shots he takes the more into the game he gets and is more likely to score

All so over the top. Amazing instinctive flick in the build up to Davies goal, great play to start the move for Sissoko's goal, great skill and feet when he hit the post, great driving run from defence and then through ball to release Sissoko when he cut in and shot, he even showed good skill and pace before his unfortunate dive.

Another day and Dele finished with a goal and assist and we all love him, instead he's being slated by body language experts and people who think if you're not an Iniesta you're no good.

He's off form for sure, but I'm personally encouraged that even playing poorly he is massively contributing. Sign of a great player that is. That's not to say some bench time in favour of Son starting wouldn't be beneficial, but the flack this 21 year old kid is getting is utter madness considering what he has achieved. For the sake of perspective Harry Winks, who we are patiently awaiting his blooming and fulfilment of his great talent, who had the benefit and comforts of growing up with Spurs training facilities and coaches rather than League 1 equivalents, is two months Dele's senior.

Great call, I have been lucky in my time of watching football to see a few special talents down the years that are so precious yet precocious too. George Best and Gazza just to name a couple.

So much of the stuff they do is beyond the other pros yet they have a fragility about them, a slight flaw which gets picked up by the media and it becomes a millstone they have to carry around in their life.

The press love to exploit and condemn these showmen. Bastards.

I thought he had a great match yesterday and was involved in so much that was good about the win.

I can understand why he is getting frustrated as he seems to be getting fouled all game and no protection from the referees. Hopefully this will be part of what helps him grow into a better player.
I think he goes down too easily and often leaks possession trying to draw non-existent fouls. As you said it's a learning curve, he has so much potential; he can learn a lot from Harry in turning his weaknesses into strengths if he wants to. Cliche but the only thing holding him back is himself.

I think much of his current criticism is unfair. Having been watching him over the last few games if anything he looks to be lacking confidence.

I can certainly see that his decision making on the ball has suffered and thus his goals and assists have dropped accordingly. But at the same time he's still doing many things well, his movement and intelligence off the ball is excellent; which creates so much space and opportunity for Kane. And when he's not having to think about it too much his one touch link up play is still there. Yes he does need to cut out the crying for a foul routine.

Overall I bring it back to a confidence issue and think he needs an arm around him rather than a kick up the arse. None of this surprising the way the media like to hound young english players at the slightest drop of form (which some of our own fans are guilty of too)

Build them up and then knock them down. Do it to every good young England player. It's frankly pathetic. Sure he shouldn't have dived but players like Rooney and Gerrard did it game after game and didn't get any criticism.

He is going through the rough patch at the moment but his talent is outstanding. We must support him because he's been brilliant for us for two seasons and will be for much more. His problems at the moment are the part of growing up, don't forget. He's only 21, he is developing as a person.

I do wonder if Dele may end up being our first Fergie v Keane/Beckham/Stam moment we encounter, ie having to move on a real superstar for the good of the team?

Not that I think that would be anytime soon but I could see it happening at some point.

Difference is those were mature players passing the peak of their careers

Dele is a 21 yo kid. People need to cut him some slack. If he is doing this in 2-3 years then yes for sure but right now he just has a bit of maturing to do

Like most of us did at that age. He's just doing it in front of millions on TV every week

And away from the pitch seems like a good guy.

Was at the game and watched Dele closely, thought he had a really good game. Was involved in a lot of our good moves, was creative, taking risks and unlucky not to score. Watched the highlights on MOTD and again saw he was involved in many of the attacking threats we had, and some of the goals. Movement was good too.

He was crap against APOEL but was a lot better against Huddersfield IMO. But his dive was shameful and embarrassing. Needs to cut that shit out.

His hair transplant looks good though! (y)

I was wondering this as googling him after Trix's comment above and noticed it looks a lot neater now shaved.

I reckon he's had hair follicles tattooed onto his head as it's the latest thing - you then shave your head and it's supposed to look really good.

My mate recently had someone in to fix or replace their oven and that guy had his hairline done with this procedure.

Me and my mate are now daring each other to get it done ha ha!

And going back to Dele yeah he dived but so do loads of players.

We don't tend to like players doing dick moves like that at Spurs as we don't tend to cheat anywhere near as certain others teams but not worth demonising him or analysing it too much as he's hardly only one doing it.

You'd just hope maybe Poch takes him aside and reminds him that diving is lacking in HONOUR and that he is better than that.

Good post. You have managed to cover off all angles.

It's important to point out tho that another day, against better opposition, and we concede two goals in first 20mins from his unforced errors, losing the ball in dangerous areas. If we're talking imaginary parallel universe games that might have happened.

Pointing this out does not automatically mean you want him sold, fined or quartered, or do not appreciate his talents.
