I always feel confident and safe when Dembele plays, he really makes this team different. He's so important for Poches system. It's going to be very difficult to replace him I guess, but hopefully he has a good few years here.

Exactly. Yesterday Watford had a strong team physically but Dembele is just so so so powerful and strong. He gives me comfort and assurance and I think that's why he is so vital to the team.

I would like to see him shoot more, he has a very good shot on him and dribble more in the final third.

Been trawling old frieneds nad happened upon this quote from Dembele before he was getting in the team. I think its a really good insight to both Poch and Dembele.

Poch won't play people that aren't putting it in and that don't follow his instruction in training and games - see Townsend et al. But when players work they earn a place and they know where they stand and what is expected.

Dembele was out of the team and not playing. Rather than sulking he improved and put the work in and is one of our most important players.

“I always want to play so of course it’s [been] a big disappointment for me, but I can’t stand still with the disappointment,” said Dembele. “I need to think about myself as well, what to do better or why I don’t play, and what to do. I want to play much more, of course. “Even though I can play in a few positions I think I can be the first [choice], but I don’t know how the manager thinks.” Asked if he has hampered by any injury issues during the last three months, Dembele replied: “No, I’ve been fit.”

Did you really have to compare one of our best players to a sanitary towel? :yuck:

I don't think he's up to 3 games in a seven day period but I don't think he's at VDV levels

We definitely need to be considering long term alternatives but for now he can be so dominant - he's a great player

How about that Everton player that got punched in the face?

I have filled this and other boards up with my "Dembele frustrates me and I prefer Winks" statements.

I still agree with that sentiment for the most part, but Dembele deserves a lot of credit over are recent tear that we have been on. He has been sharper than he was at the beginning of the season and now that he is in form, he is becoming more involved.

Great game yesterday.

I do wonder if he'll be able to start against Palace and Arsenal as well though. He's had trouble playing every three days earlier.
