I personally think he will be fine. Looked as though he may have slightly twisted his ankle in a challenge. He was moving a tad gingerly but i think he will be fine.

‘LIKE YOU SEE OUT OF MESSI’ – DAMIEN DUFF THINKS TOTTENHAM ACE IS THE BEST HE HAS EVER SEEN

Former Chelsea winger Damien Duff has raved about Tottenham ace Mousa Dembele and stated he is probably “the best” he has ever seen.

The 38-year-old was selecting the best XI players he has played with during his career, which saw him lift two Premier League titles.

Despite naming Frank Lampard in his starting XI, Duff thinks that his midfield partner, Dembele is the best he has ever seen.

The duo made Duff’s side, alongside Robbie Keane and Roy Keane, players he played with at the international level for the Republic of Ireland.

Duff was particularly in awe of Dembele’s ability to get past players as he stated he doesn’t “drop his shoulder like you see out of Messi” but he still somehow manages to beat his man.

Speaking to the Fantasy Football Club, which aired on Sky Sports 1 on Friday evening, Duff explained why Dembele makes his team.

“So strong, so quick, possibly the best I’ve ever seen at standing someone up and just beating them,” Duff told Sky Sports.

“It’s not even the drop of the shoulder like you see out of Messi, it’s a little shuffle of the hips, I don’t even know what he does, you think you’ll nick the ball off him then he will just get his leg across or his arm. Amazing technique on the ball. Great player.”

The duo played alongside each other during their time at Fulham, who are currently sitting in the Championship having finished in the play-off places.

Nonetheless, Dembele is hugely underrated but has received big admiration from his teammates in recent months, who have stated he is arguably the best player they play with.

His strength and sheer ability to drive through the midfield makes him a very difficult customer for the opposition.

The Belgium international has been a regular feature since Mauricio Pochettinio arrived at White Hart Lane in 2014.

This season, he has played 27 Premier League matches, scoring one goal, supplying two assists and helping his team boast the best defensive record in the league.

Feels like we're almost gearing him up for the role of the calm and composed experienced head to see out games.

Martin Jol insists Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele is one of the most gifted players he has ever seen.

The 29-year-old has been a key player under Mauricio Pochettino this season, contributing one goal and two assists from 37 appearances in all competitions.

He has formed a formidable central-midfield partnership alongside summer signing Victor Wanyama, but ex-Tottenham chief Jol deserves some credit for his success.

Jol worked alongside Dembele during his time as Fulham manager between 2011 and 2013, where he helped transform the Belgian international from an attack-minded forward into a midfield player.

He is now regarded as one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the Premier League, and Jol admits he is one of the ‘most gifted’ players he has ever seen.

He told Football.London: “I also converted Dembele from an attacking striker/winger into a midfield player. I did that at Fulham. That was the big change in his career and I’m sure he’d tell you the same.

“Dembele is one of the most gifted players I’ve ever had. I said that to [Dimitar Berbatov]. He is so strong and he will never lose the ball. He is so good.

“I said ‘You were probably my most gifted player I’ve ever seen, but Dembele is a very good second one.’ Dembele could play for any top team in the world.”

Dembele moved to Tottenham from Fulham in August 2012 for a fee of £15million, having scored seven goals from 75 appearances at Craven Cottage.

Jol also worked alongside key Tottenham trio Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen at Ajax, where he transformed Vertonghen from a midfield player into a defender – another successful change.

I agree he is an absolutely incredible player, but there is no denying there is something missing from his game that stops him from being in that top top category of players. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Doesn't play the killer through ball and doesn't score enough goals. Otherwise he is amongst the best

A couple of points I would make here -

1) This man clearly has no discernable hair to speak of

2) The vast majority of Tottenham fans seem largely unpeturbed by the above fact
