It’s almost as if he should have waited until after this match before coughing up that ball of phlegm.

Argentina played nearly 50 players in their qualifying campaign, under three different managers. The current manager has made decisions on multiple occasions in the two matches this World Cup that could contend for the worst tactical decisions in World Cup history.

There's nothing to be gleaned from Lamela's omission.

The way Messi's international career has been utterly wasted with coaches such as Maradona, Batista and Sampaoli is almost, almost, almost as bad as the way Tony Romo's career got wasted by having Jason Garreth as his head coach.

Cant hold the managers fully responsible when Messi himself holds so much power and influence. Alot of Argentina's failings are due to trying to construct the team to make Messi happy.

Messi's a weird one. He was injured for a very long spell one season and the Barca's goals, possession, passes, chances, points and wins all rose massively. Goals conceded, incomplete passes, and a host of other negative stats all went down.

Then he came back and the reverse happened. He wad still indisputably the world's best player that year but Barca seemed better without him. There was a long article analysing this, maybe someone could find it. Or maybe I dreamt it.

Oh the horror. What an injustice. How will they win a game without The Mighty Erik Lamela. He of the high press, with great end product, incisive passing, the range of passing which is unsurpassed in the Argentina squad. Why cant the manager see what others on here can clearly see.

Well that makes me and the Argentina manager i suppose.

Did you get your answer last night? The guy doesn't have a fucking Scooby.

He messed up totally and he didnt even have Lamela in the team. Well now i dont have a reason to blame him :sneaky:

Joking aside, surely last night did at least show you that this current Argentina omitting Lamela from his thoughts means absolutely nothing?

Okay the truth... You bloody right. I watched that game and thought they needed a Harrier like Lamela there. I was never going to admit to this.. Why could you not leave sleeping dogs to lie.:cautious:

Think Lamela will be greatly appreciated during the first few games of the season. Already is one of the fittest in our team before his extra work he has now done. Still think Italian league suits him best.

Can't wait to see how he plays this season, think this is going to be his best one yet. We can offer a badass lineup in cup games that should tear through these guys next year.. Lets just say we can do something like this:

space Plea
Son - Lamela - Lucas
hi Winks - Wanyama

That should easily be able to take care of these cup teams we struggled with early last year when we had to throw Sissoko out as a creative player in those line ups.

Di Marzio says we're in talks with Lamela over a new contract.

Yet another season with the Tottenham jersey and a future more and more in ... Premier League . Renewal tests underway between the British company and Erik Lamela , Argentine talent class 1992: talks started for the extension of the contract, with the parties who are defining the duration of the new agreement that should be 2021 or 2022.

I'd imagine that should put to rest the Malcom links.
