What's the point of a squad player who can never be in the squad? Need to replace him this summer. Hoping we can still fetch a decent fee for him based on his performances this season.

Doubt we'd get 20 million pounds for him back in Italy.

Watching the last few games and seeing how thread bare we are surely means time to say good bye to Lamela and sign someone that will be fit more than not. I like him as a player, fully committed and he definitely has quality. If he isn't going to be fit for more than 20 games a year we need to cut our losses.

There are others in a similar place and I would do the same with them. This is a really pivotal summer for us.

He carried us early in the season with his goals and he's a big reason why we are 3rd now. I love Coco but he isn't reliable, he's definitely one of those players like VDV who will keep supporting us and celebrate whenever Arsenal lose long after they retire.

Sadly I think injuries have robbed Lamela of his potential like many other players and with Dele, Son, Eriksen and Luca all being above him in the pecking order his time at Spurs is probably coming to an end.

However, his contract runs until 2022, he started the season in good form off the bench and if Levy isn’t happy with bids on him then he may stay and get another chance at redemption next season.

You never know, he could “do a Sissoko”.

Sissoko possesses pace, power and directness. Things that Lamela sadly doesn't

Lamela possesses flair, touch and vision, three things Sadly Sissoko does not.

Not sure the point. But it takes different tools to open different locks.

I for one hope Erik can still have a positive say in the remainder of our season.

Problem is though is that you can't "do a Sissoko" if you can't make it onto the pitch. I don't have a problem with what Lamela brings to the table, it's his constant injuries and not being available to call upon when needed that is the annoyance.

Sad to say it but his time must be up this summer.
Patience has run out, I thought this would be his season after the start he made but he is our Darren Anderton and he just cant go more than a few games without getting injured.
waste of a foreign squad place and we could still recoup 15-20m on him IMO
needs to go.

It's sad that it's not worked out with him this season injuries wise. I'm one of his biggest fans but we may need to let him go. It's a shame as we're a team generally lacking in technique and footballing intelligence, him and Eriksen have both in abundance and we're potentially going to lose both. I hope Poch identifies that we lack this instead of replacing these guys with people of a different skillset.

Get shot at whatever cost
Well no ,we need a good price
Sometimes you have to just cut your losses and get a decent fee rather than a good price. See Janssen, N’frenchies etc.
Decent fee, good price ,same thing no?
Anything around £15m imo

We appear to need squad places far more than we need cash. Holding out for the best offer means we still have players we don't want.

Lamela is no good. We can't afford to have a player taking up a squad place and salary who can hardly string 5 games together.

I got shot down earlier in this thread for saying we shouldn’t have given him New contract. He can’t stay fit.

No harm done by signing the new deal. Gives us a little better leverage in a potential sale rather than a player who would have a year left on his deal.

Lamela out
Grealish in

Come on Danny boy, you know it makes sense.

*obviously Lamela, Grealish, Villa and whoever buys Lamela has to agree to this too ?

Comparing Lamela to Anderton is insulting to Dazza imo.
