I thought he did well when he came on. He really does offer something a bit different.

One thing he did, though, almost made me shit my pants. It was just after we got the winner and he had the ball deep in our half and he initially did well by beating his man out wide and you’re just thinking to yourself, ok, you made yourself some good space there get rid of the fucking ball. We’re 98mins in here. Instead, he tries to beat his man by cutting inside, loses the ball which then gives de ligt a chance to put a ball in the box. Luckily Llorente puts a beautiful header back to Lamela who then played in Lucas to start our last counter before the whistle was blown but on another day de ligt puts in a great cross and we concede.

I had to go back and watch that last few seconds as I genuinely blacked out when Moura scored his 3rd.

So I suppose we have to get rid of Eriksen a well. Remember, against Man City 2nd in the leg of Qtr. finals of the same competition, instead of clearing it, he turned back and gave Sterling the ball who scored the winning goal which was ruled out by VAR.

eriksen actually contriutes though. lamela is injury prone and isnt contributing at all. decent to have but i rather have someone else in the team we could actually make our attack better. lamela is not that guy

He's only 27, and has been a huge part of the Pochettino era. I'd absolutely keep him as long as he stays fit.

Desperately want him to be part of the next group of players to win a trophy, they all deserve it so much.

When he plays he is great to watch, always attack minded. I just wish he was not injured all the time! I would love to see him have a full season with no issues.

I think he will have a prominent role to play in the CL final, made all the sweeter as the Liverpool fans hate him

When Eriksen leaves -and if he can stay fit- I’d like to see Lamela given a run as our creator in chief. He is always pro-active and aggressive with his passing, and he plays the best through balls of anyone at the club. With a run of games as the ‘10’ I feel he would be less rash and be more consistent with his end product. And he presses like a man possessed, and we have always been at our best when we aggressively press from the front

Agreed.
With the ball, he's one of the more creative & skilled players that we have.
I believe that he is very effective when he plays more centrally.
He loves to drive forward & arguably has the best vision for a pass.
Off the ball, he makes intelligent runs &/or draws opponents to him.

Defensively, he's tenacious. I wish all our players pressed & played that way.
Centrally, with his stamina & aggressiveness we could win the ball further up the pitch.
As a result, we'd have less distance to travel to their goal.
He'd also get more opportunities at goal.

If only he could stay healthy.

Out of curiosity, what happened to his brother? He seems to be in a wheelchair now? What happened? Very sad, whatever happened.

Out of curiosity, what happened to his brother? He seems to be in a wheelchair now? What happened? Very sad, whatever happened.

"The Tottenham winger’s younger brother, Axel, had banged his head in a swimming pool in their native Argentina and the damage would be grave. Axel was paralysed.

“For a few months, he couldn’t move anything,” Lamela says. “Right now, he is getting some movement back and working day by day to return to a normal life. The doctors say that he may be able to walk again but it all depends on how the rehab goes. It’s going to be a slow process and we just need a lot of patience. He is wheelchair-bound."

Wow that’s so sad. When I was on social media more often I followed Lamela and his brother was in like every other photo they seemed really close. Tragic.
