Was this a guy in block D or E on the shelf, small guy would never shut up?
I have to admit I could never get my bearings at WHL, but where I was sitting was in the upper section looking out from the side of the pitch opposite to that with the dugouts, the family section to the right (behind the goal). He was a young guy, in his twenties, and his uncle has a bar in Cyprus. He and his mates were happy during the match when it appeared that Davies had a head injury.

You were the bloke that thought Van Der Vaart was too slow for the Premiership. You were the bloke who thought Modric was too lightweight for the Premiership. You spiel absolute feces from your mouth all over the forums and you're incapable of changing a thought process in your head once you've "decided". You're fucking blind. You have no concept of football and how mentality makes the difference these days. You have no fucking idea. :D
Epic put-down.

Feel free to disagree but try to be civil, we are all Spurs fans. I’m not going to respond to the utter garbage in your post because it doesn’t deserve a response.

Yeah that will be around there then! I think I've heard him before in the AVB and Redknapp years.

My admiration for him is based on what he has had to surmount. The main hurdle has been the implacable dislike that some have had. At WHL, I just couldn't bear the constant diatribes towards him from one Greek-Cypriot idiot and I told him to shut the fuck up. He did along with a few people around him.

I never understand that. It's the reason i dont venture into or contribute in the match thread. Yesterday's match thread is a case in point. Players don't put on the shirt and deliberately play poorly. They can be out of their depth or in poor form but then thats on the manager.

Lamela isnt my favourite player but i dont advocate abuse of any player.

I asked him whether he was going to continue slagging off Lamela all match and he told me I didn't have to buy a ticket to sit next to him as he always sat there. And that's when I lost it and shouted that had I known I wouldn't have bought "the fucking ticket". I think I came across as very aggressive as he didn't say much after that.

If you've read what else I said about the incident, that wasn't the worst of it. Being happy that Davies got a head injury just took the biscuit.

Yeah picked that up, it's just sick really. It down to intellect unfortunately. I can understand anyone losing their cool as a result.

He is much better on the ball than either Son or Alli in tight areas. Both can be guilty of giving the ball away far too frequently. What he doesn’t have is their end product. He is still a sub for me in the PL because the other 2 offer more, however, I can see the logic away in CL from home in playing Lamela.

The thing about his so-called lack of end product is that he tries high-risk plays, which by their nature will tend not to come off; but when they do, they can eviscerate the opposition defence.

He needs to score more but he did have more goals and assists than Dele and Son in 2015-2016 season.
Plus he was injured for most of last season and only just returning now.
He needs to be more instinctive and just shoot sometimes.

Hell will freeze over before some people will ever give him credit. He has had vile abuse that he never deserved. I don't forget, nor do I forgive. I'm just keeping my powder dry.

I have definitely been a Lamela critic at times in the past but it really should have been directed at the views some have of him, not really at him. For me, Lamela presses well, brings a great spirit to the squad and sees a thru ball when he has time but I do not get the views that some people have had about him having to start or being our most important player or needing to play in the middle or even as a number 10. For me, we have better options in our first 11 but I do believe he can be a great change of tactics starter or a real difference maker off the bench as games open up.

It is by no means that I dislike Lamela but I just don't believe he has the level of quality that some on the forum believe.

Im not sure you would find any quote from me showing abuse to Lamela or any other player who puts on our shirt...

What you would find from me is critique or opnion on style of play. As i read through this thread its almost a cult like status some have for him.

I've said it repeatedly, i dont see what others see. He is no different to Dele/Son/Winks/Sissoko etc. Im indifferent to him. He has frustrated the hell out of me previously and his cameo's or full games since he's return have been acceptable... By acceptable i mean... He hasnt had me swearing or wanting him subbed. Whereas previously i wanted him sold or not selected as a starter.

You’re indifferent to Dele and Son?!

Yes our play isn’t all about pressing as it was when he was a regular.

We played fantastically as a team last night but that doesn’t mean every player who played was amazing. Would you use the result to justify support for Aurier for example ? I’m not saying Lamela played like Aurier but he wasn’t instrumental to our result in the way that Eriksen, Dele or Kane were. Even if he had been I’m looking at performance over a longer period. He doesn’t have pace, doesn’t dribble, has a weak shot, is totally one footed, his main attributes are his defensive abilities in forward areas and his eye for a pass. There are better players in making a killer pass who have more pace, better dribbling and better shooting, Draxler is one of them.

If you watched the PSG - Real game you wouldn't be praising Draxler.

And Lamela hit a superb right footed cross for Alli to miss at the far post, do stop making things up.

What like the little chip for Dele against the Arsenal?
Right now Son Eriksen and Dele are the first Eleven starters and they've earned it.
It's up to Coco to change that.
