I've always been a fan of Lamela but I truly miss watching him on the pitch. He offers us so much in both facets of the game. He's relentless in pursuit of the ball and he's such a creative force in attack. My biggest fear for him is he becomes our Santi Cazorla; the guy you know can bring so much value to the side but simply can't stay healthy long enough to really thrust the team forward in a title chase.

I just want to see him, Victor and Aurier on the same pitch together at the same time. Especially at The Bridge
i said something similar to my mate yesterday, fuck being a left sided player for the opposition when you have Serge RWB, Sanchez RCB and Wanyama RCM. They'll probably feign injury just to escape getting smashed.

Ricky villa has said there are concerns he won't play again.
Wasn't there something about us believing his hip problems were psychological?

And that Physically he was fine?

As always the lack of information leads to wild speculation though. Some clarity on him would be great.

link/date? gotta give us some evidence rather than just throwing it in here.

Think he's referring to the interview that @Ossie85 spoke about earlier.

He had 2 hip operations, nothing to do with his back.

And I listened to a radio interview yesterday with Ricky Villa and he said that for a moment they feared he would not play again, so stop spouting nonsense if you have no clue about what's going on. Lamela clearly worked his socks off to adapt to the league since he arrived, so being a whole year out is no fun time for him.

I think it was before the last operation when that came out about it being in his head.

I think it was even stated at the time that we didn't think he needed an op but it was a last resort.

It's all around here somewhere...

Well it was obviously incorrect.

Just had a quick look and it was that our scans could find nothing physically wrong with him, so he was having (what was presumed to be exploratory) surgery.

The "in his head" stuff was probably added by posters due to this info.

Anyway, I just wanna see the guy playing again!! (and not just because it would limit Sissoko's playing time :D)

Hell I'd be happy just to see him playing football in training!

The interview apparently stated that at one point they thought he would never play again. This is how rumours start when people miscomprehend what is written or said.

I think it is a very legitimate worry still if he will ever play again for Spurs, and even if he will, whether this is his last Tottenham season regardless.

We expect him on a confirmed date upon medical advice. About him getting his head right to take that next step.
