Poch obviously has a blind spot for Lamela, hope it doesn't turn out to be a fatal flaw ...... nevertheless it's 100% the headless chicken will be gone in the summer once Poch wises up and uses him sparingly giving him just enough game time to prove that he is a waste of a place anywhere in the squad.

You are a headcase mate - stop trolling like your a desperate crack whore looking for a hard on up your ass. There are other ways you can get attention.

I've never been a particular fan of Lamela (although I cannot fault any of his performances this season), but I can't quite believe the stick he's been getting in the media over the penalty. There was nothing "clever" about what he did. The punditry on MOTD last night was both embarrassing and comical.

Media: Spurs need to be street smart and stop being Spursy

Also media: Lamela doing van Dijk like a kipper and drawing a foul was a travesty.

Plus it’s Liverpool innit the fucking holy grail of football. Those ****s think they invented the game and they play it like fucking nuns. Right up until the 60’s they were a fricken Mickey Mouse team living in the shadows of that blue lot down the road. And they had some of the dirtiest players for years. Fuckin holier then though hypocrites.

What are you talking about? He clearly backed in and threw his hamstring at poor Virgil's foot.
This would be funny if so many scousers weren't actually arguing this as fact !!!
Even VVD said it wasn't a pen as lamela just put his body in front of him....

Is there any news if Lamela took any damage from VdV 's kick? It was a heavy swing and it seems it was the toe of his boot slap bang in the middle of Lamela's calf muscle.

Doubtless he will be feeling that today, but i can't find any clarification of his being ok.

Rafa?

So your trying to clear the ball up field and miss the ball and kick the player instead and its not a foul?

Erik Lamela drops huge hint that he'll reject a return to Italy to sign new Spurs contract
The winger is out of contract at the end of next season

Erik Lamela has dropped a big hint that his future remains with Spurs following talk of a move away from the club.

After spending over a year on the sidelines following hip problems, the Argentine was linked with a deadline day move to Southampton in order to get some regular football under his belt.

As well as talk of a move to Saints, a host of Serie A clubs, including Inter Milan and Roma, have been linked with a move for the winger in the past.

However, despite the interest, Mauricio Pochettino elected to keep the 25-year-old in north London ahead of a big second half of the league season.

Speaking to Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lamela has stated that he is very happy in the capital at present with his current deal set to expire in 2019.

Lamela said: "There's never been anything with the Bianconeri. Inter? I only think about the club I'm at, and I am very good here at Tottenham, the club is getting better and better and I love living in London.

"Pochettino is from Argentina like me and he knows that it is not easy for a young player to settle in quickly in a completely different culture.

"At the beginning I had many problems with the language, injuries and different football.

"After the first season many people told me to leave England, but I didn't want to give up, it was a challenge.
"Now I'm still here, so I made the right choice."

With Lamela discussing his long-term future, he also spoke about the club's Champions League tie with Juventus next week.
After finishing top of a group containing Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, Lamela is confident that his side can progress past the Serie A champions.

"I am optimistic about the game, I think we can do it," added Lamela. "Details will be fundamental in getting qualification.

"Juventus are a very strong team, they have played two Champions League finals in the last three campaigns, but we are a strong side too.

"The draw against Liverpool can give us a boost"

Even the biggest Lamela hater must surely appreciate the guys mentality and attitude. His mindset typifies exactly what Poch is all about.

Get him a goal tomorrow against Newport for his confidence and I think he will be flying for us. A very crucial wildcard player for the remaining of the season.

I wish this were the case. He had a minor buttock injury for the Newport match and some fucking neanderthals on Twitter were trotting out the "mentally weak" nonsense.

I have been critical of Lamela in the past, but I do not question his attitude or love of Spurs. I think he is a good option off the bench against a tired opponent because, as the game opens up, he has more time to control the ball to let his other qualities come through. I don't see him as a first 11 player but if he is happy being an occasional starter and impact player off the bench, he can be a very valuable option.
