Always liked Lamela, and he’s one of a few players in our squad with the flair to make something happen.

He’s an excellent sub as well, always looks likely to pull something off when he comes on. One of a few players we have that I feel always can make a difference. Great player and obviously an excellent member of the squad even if he’s not always going to be the first choice.

He needs to be at least in rotation to start some league games.

Won't even be match sharp yet.
Couple that with Toby and Vic coming back and Moura being allowed time to get up to speed and on the same wave lengths as his team mates it's all looking good. (y)

Anyone playing poorly now has a viable alternative... (Well almost  but some are simply irreplaceable.
Rose too!

Iwobi looks like Dwayne Dibley.
The Duke of Dork?

Not that it means much but any real brawl between our lads and there's would be an absolute massacre. Probably says it all about the difference between the two teams mental and physical toughness...

I can't think of a single Arsenal player you'd genuinely have any physical fear of.

Can guarantee Wilshere is the sort of little snake who keeps a shank down his sock at all times though.

Lamela was the reason why we have had so many slow and lethargic starts earlier in the season, because he was absent! For those of you who wanted him sold post his injury seem to forget what a ferocious and "take no prisoner" player we had that ripped into the opposition from the 1st whistle. When he did it, it galvanized others resulting in us pressing from the start. He may not have been very clinical and his tackling may have been suspect, but we had a player with the right attitude and cajjones who was not afraid to try things. Remember games like the 4 - 1 against Man City? That slow step on Fabrigas' hand and now that altercation with Wilshere makes him a legend in my book. Welcome back Coco, some of us missed you

Totally agree. Even when playing poorly is positive attitude and sheer aggression are infectious. There were many games 2 seasons ago where we would start slowly where Lamela would charge around the pitch and ger everybody going.

Even in the game against newport there was a moment when Nouble was holding off kwp by the halfway line when Lamela came over and you could clearly see that he thought "fuck this for a game of soldiers", slid between his legs from behind, nicked the ball, held a slightly bewildered Nouble off and then passed it. That was the Lamela we has been missing.

Looks can be very deceiving, Lamela may appear to be a fancy south American creative type, and he is that also, but he is a fearless devil of a player who gives it 100% regardless of the opposition or whether we are winning or losing.

Erik Lamela on Lucas Moura: "(He) adds competitiveness. Now we are all available to the coach and that is positive. It makes no-one relaxed. You have to train hard and then take advantage of the chances when you play."

Agree on all your points, except 'some of us...' rephrase to 'F....all of us missed you'.

Always thought he was an excellent player. He struggled to settle under AVB (who wouldn't in those cluster fuck mentality years) but Poch really added a never give up tenacity to his game.

He had the highest number of assists in Poch's second season here and he's looked better as seasons have gone by.

I do believe he'll cement himself as one of our most important first team regulars in time.

Really amusing to see a number of posters changing their minds about Lamela! He is a vital part of our squad and suits our style/philosophy perfectly. Now that he is getting fitness and match sharpness back We are starting to see the Lamela of 2 seasons ago. In today's market he is a snip at 25 million. Quite why people think he should be sold is beyond me?

It is amusing. My personal favourite was a number of posters asserting that they don’t see Lamela ‘ever playing for us again’ based on absolutely nothing other than the fact he was working his way back to fitness after a year out injured.

This fucking place

We really have missed his intensity and passing ability at times. His weight of pass is excellent and he is always aggressive, constantly looking forward.

I love how our attack is starting to look so multi faceted - all bringing something different. Excited to see Moura in action.

One of my favourite players in this current squad. I love the combination of Lamela Alli Eriksen behind Kane to me it has everything, especially when Alli has his scoring boots and of course the rest on form

Everytime he lost the ball, he won it back, often with a well orchestrated winning last ditch tackle to regain possession succesfully back to the team.

Some of you clowns that have spent the last year saying "we should sell him...he's always been shit for us" should probably understand you're emotionally retarded with deep levels of fickleness as a football fan and there's very much a Bin Dipper or Goontard mentality DNA in you.

A class performance from a class player we lucky to sign for 25m.

Relentless closing down, nice intricate passing and, best of all, he told Eriksen to go low on the freekick. Get the wallet out Daniel.
