There's a quote somewhere...I challenge anyone that is much, much better than me in finding the 2015/2016 press quotes or social media quotes that Kyle Walker said about Lamela in that season.

Paraphrase.....Walker said to the press that he said to Lamela "This win against Man City is ideal... we can now challenge for the top four" - and Walker said "He gave me the look of death "Top four? No, we challenge for the title....and he looked insane".

It's a paraphrase... but I distinctly remember Walker saying how Lamela was furious with him as he had suggested it was only about getting top four.

He's got a winner's mentality. Plays the game with flair but has absolutely no fear to stop or not carry on, until he can't go on anymore. I think he's an absolute pleasure to have at our club. He personifies the "can do...will do spirit" Poch instilled in the club in 2014.

He would try to divert a cruise missile in the opposition's goal if he thought the aftermath would threaten our goal.

Absolute class. Always has been. His old Serie A opposition knew it as well. I'm glad other Spurs fans are finally waking up.

Close, it was actually Danny Rose (but I totally agree with your post):

Danny Rose has revealed Erik Lamela looked at him in disgust when he asked his Tottenham team-mate about their top-four chances ‒ because the Argentine thinks they can win the title.

The pair were having dinner in mid-February when the defender asked the 23-year-old winger whether he believes they can qualify for Champions League football next season.

Rose admits he had never been given such a dirty look as Lamela told him they can be crowned Barclays Premier League champions.

Poch gonna have some selection headaches now, who plays out of Alli, Son, Lamela and Lucas.

Nice problem to have.
Options and versatility. This is the depth we all have been craving for. Each one of these 4 all have their own distint superiority. It is orgasmic to even think about that .

He was everywhere last night, left, right, in the box, defending our box, even the in a sublime right foot cross to Alli for those 1 leg haters.

He has been awesome since coming back and we have sorely missed him while he was recovering

You can very clearly see his lips moving to say,
''Stop pulling your boat race you weasel. Have fun playing some fishermen this week while we make Juventus look like boys. You little bollocks"

Oi! Östersund aren't fishermen. They are lumberjacks...

BBC was running its usual live text during the game and they regularly include messages they’ve received from fans - more than one screaming for “useless Lamela” to come off.

It’s actually pretty scary just how totally clueless some fans still are.

Lamela was absolutely fantastic last night. He covered every blade of grass on the pitch and his work rate is phenomenal.

The only critique could be how many of his passes find their target. But I would probably say that when you’re trying to thread passes through the congested areas of the pitch he is working in, percentages will be lower.

But for me, what a joy to have this guy back on the pitch, showing the commitment and returning form he displayed pre injury.

Unfortunately there are some who can't just admit they were wrong. I don't know what else he has to do to win these people round.

Never really got what all the fuss is about when it comes to Lamela, but I honestly thought he was excellent last night. Totally justified his selection. Some of his one touch passing - in very tight areas - was superb. And he did put a shift in defensively.
