Needs a new deal this summer.

It's crazy that I feel like he has come back a better player since the injury lay off. Seems to play with more confidence and swagger.

Maybe becoming a dad has something to do with it as well. You grow as person with more responsibility.

It's hard to find players that care about rivalries so much and he is from Argentina. He despises Chelsea and Arsenal and brings 200% against those clubs (not that his work rate is lacking against others). Hopefully we extend his contract and he stays injury free to start next season.

Hmm, not sure I agree with that: I still don't feel the same kind of anticipation of a forthcoming goal/assist/moment of magic when Lamela is on the ball as I do when Son/Eriksen/Alli has it (or indeed the Lamela of 2015/16). However, I still think he's offering the team a lot outside of that attacking threat and I'm surprised and glad to see that he's doing as well as he is.

That said, fair play, you did qualify that that impression was just your onion, and mine is likewise. I think we can all agree that everyone has different onions.

Onions. (Is that funny yet?)

Kinda glad that he's not going to the World Cup, I like this aggressive, determined Lamela we've had since the lay off, don't want to lose that fire to some piss all broken toe or whatnot.

Before he was a good player who tried hard, now he's starting to tick off the boxes that make a good Argentinian player - he's quick to the ball, not afraid to try something ridiculous but above all, he's not above playing dirty once in a while. It's no surprise that Poch likes him being in the side.

Brilliant today. Even if next season he doesn't necessarily start week in week out he's shown he's a vital member of squad and should be given new contract.
Away against top 6 he could well be a starter next season though but more importantly he's someone who genuinely can be relied on to start when needed. Lucas will hopefully be same, could probably do with another in summer.

those dirty tackles on fabregas :ROFLMAO:

he's our lunatic, long may he reign..
The second part of the incident with fabregas got me. After stamping on his ankle, to then scrape his face with his boot as he walked away was sheer nastiness. He's a very good player, and I'm glad he's playing for us rather than against us

The thing is, he doesn't just have that super competitive side and energy but no quality. Some of his first time passing and balls around the corner are superb to watch. Having Eriksen and Lamela pulling the strings in this team is beautiful to watch. None of our players, bar Kane, have his desire, for that reason alone i want him at the club as long as possible. Fantastic attitude and fantastic player.

With the possible exception of Glenn Hoddle admiring your technique, I can think of no higher praise for a Spurs player than having Graham Roberts commend you for your graft and fight.

Nice one, Erik.

Why? We score plenty of goals. It's not a problem we have.

If you play in a front three or four for w team challenging for trophies you just have to. We might be scoring loads but we are not scoring as much as liverpool and cjty

I mean he probably won't start once Kane is fully fit so it's not a big deal.
