We missed Lamela dearly these past couple years. His fire and tenacity on the pitch are the intangibles that a team needs.

Yes he could add more stats that we see on the match report, but the hockey assists, the tackles leading to a break, the shape he provides and so forth are all areas that Lamela thrives in.

From the pictures of the Southend game it looks like he's spent the last 6 months in the gym. Really bulked up compared to when he was a regular a couple of seasons ago.

So haters beware.
I liked him when he was
a seven stone weakling
having sand kicked in his face.
Oh yes I did.

To all those crying about no big signings. A fit and rejuvinated Erik with a full pre-season behind him is a £50m+ signing already. How we've missed him. I tip him to be one of our best performers this season. I don't think some people know what we have with him and Son. Stick Martial up your ass!

And Lucas Moura...

We just need the youngsters like Sessegnon and Grealish. Carling cup and subs with the odd league start.

The Eric Lamela who played in our last game at Wembley was the player we thought we were buying frommRoma. I am a fan of him but for various reasons we have never seen more than a fraction of that player. Let's hope this is the beginning of great things from him

I'm not sure you have been paying attention. After his first season or so whenever he's been fit he's been one of our best players. Even at the end of last season.

Would love to see a line up in a 4-1-3-2 formation against teams likely to park the bus to show our offensive flair if we aren't adding a deeper playmaker.

Dier
Lamela - Eriksen - Son
Kane - Dele
