The first thing I want to see from any player that pulls on the shirt is effort. Lamela gives that in spades vs Eriksen, Dier and now Kane.
Needs to play up on alternate side to Moura and then we have two forwards closing down and working their nuts off up top.

They both play right side, don’t think either should be on left as square pegs in round holes again.

If you want to play then both then Moura needs to play right side and Lamela in middle with Eriksen rested.

The one player that really deserves a start at the moment.
100%. He and Moura are the only players really causing defences problems at the moment. Can't imagine Son is going to come straight back in to the team fit and firing after an exhausting month or so on international duty., so Lamela and Moura starting as many games as possible is a must.

I know that probably everyone will disagree with me but I would make him our Captain for tomorrow’s game and then have Vertonghen taking over after that
Lamela has always been under appreciated and has always had to fight back from injury and family problems. He always gives his all on the pitch, his mentality might be the best at the club, he never ever gives up so it would be a nice gesture to make him Captain for tomorrow’s game but that will never happen

Never leaves anything on the pitch, seems like he would die for the shirt.

Hoping for a Coco masterclass tonight

We are certainly missing his energy. Should theoretically be one of the freshest players in the squad too.

2 goals and 1 assist in 79' minutes off the bench in the league this season. He's really making an impact and will be vital in putting something together over the coming months.

Other players survive in that starting 11 doing much less than what Lamela seems to do so often. Definitely deserves more time on the pitch.

Agreed. I think with injuries Poch does not want to overload yet. Energy is a must for us. Stay fit Erik !

That picture of Coco pointing at the badge. I'm welling up here COYS!

Don't think attitude or application has ever really been a problem (?) just needs to stay fit.

I'm daring to dream that he can finally have his breakout season, five years after signing. Cue long-term hip injury next week.

Would be lovely, but really, I just want to see him deservingly become a regular starter for us. If he can do that then the sky’s the limit. He’s started very well and deserves his spot, but he will have to grow on his bright start. It will take time and he will certainly give a few dud games where all the Lamela haters will come out of the woodwork calling for his immediate sale but if he can keep those to a minimum then maybe, hopefully, he will finally start to realise is full potential and become a star player for us. Consistency is key at this point in his and our season.

For what it’s worth, I do think he will deliver his highest goal return for us this season.... providing he stays fit. ?

Yep. Though to be honest, 'haters' have no bearing on selection. Poch chooses (eg Dier).
