Would be lovely, but really, I just want to see him deservingly become a regular starter for us. If he can do that then the sky’s the limit. He’s started very well and deserves his spot, but he will have to grow on his bright start. It will take time and he will certainly give a few dud games where all the Lamela haters will come out of the woodwork calling for his immediate sale but if he can keep those to a minimum then maybe, hopefully, he will finally start to realise is full potential and become a star player for us. Consistency is key at this point in his and our season.

For what it’s worth, I do think he will deliver his highest goal return for us this season.... providing he stays fit. ?
His style of play will always mean he has matches where he loses the ball too often, or things don't come off. He's kind of a high risk player that way. But if he can keep scoring and assisting it will make it worth it.

I’ve never been his biggest fan, although I’m certainly not a hater. Always loved his off the ball work, but thought he flattered to deceive with the ball too often.

He absolutely deserves to start though at the moment, especially with Son having had such little break from football.

Start both Lamela and Lucas I say and rotate Kane and Son up top to give them both a bit of recuperation time.

If he recaptured his Roma scoring form what a player we’d have and what a bonus it would be.

To me, what sets Lamela, Kane and Lloris apart from our other players is that they genuinely seem to love THFC. These three players will be the key in leading us to a PL title in the upcoming seasons (or at least a very strong title challenge).

Yep, I would put Vertonghen in that list and maybe even Dembele
And some of our academy players has supported the club their whole life, Winks, Onomah and KWP a few I can think off

I so hope Vertonghen proves you right by signing a new contract.

He looks all together maturer and business like this season. If Poch brings him through slowly but surely, rather than 90 mins mid week and weekends, I'd hope he is ready in the next few weeks to put in a shift.

His passion is top drawer, its infectious. COYS

The one player that really deserves a start at the moment.
100%. He and Moura are the only players really causing defences problems at the moment.
Never leaves anything on the pitch, seems like he would die for the shirt.
Other players survive in that starting 11 doing much less than what Lamela seems to do so often. Definitely deserves more time on the pitch.
He looks a completely different player this season.
People seem to forget that he started in the 1st eleven most of the times in the "Leicester" season where we, in my opinion, were at our best. The season where he pressed the crap out of Man City (4-1), the battle of Chelsea, the game against Arsenal where we were winning 2-1, he got subbed and our game immediately changed as the pressing stopped and drew 2-2 by a late Arsenal goal.

It is also no coincident that when he went on sick leave because of his hips, people were questioning that our games then were starting too slow, without the usual urgency obviously not realising that Lamela was the catalyst. So yes, I believe he is ready to reclaim his berth in the starting 11 as he definitely on current form is playing better than some who currently hold a place.

Will he be as effective starting? Maybe his style is better suited, in terms of getting goals and assists, once the game has opened up. If he starts maybe he won't be as effective in this respect, but his sense of urgency would transmit to the others, resulting in a better team performance/pressing but leading to questions about how effective he is again. He certainly deserves the chance. & last season in particular he seemed to have good understanding with Lucas.

I havent forgotten but he still had little end product in that season. Now he looks lethal.

He may not have scored alot but his performance was infectious resulting in very good team results, an underrated quality. But as you said, he now looks lethal as well, which therefore supports the argument for him to start

Picking up where he left off at the beginning of the 16/17 season before the injury.
Agree with this, he looked like he was set to have an amazing season before that injury. He looks like doing the same this year. As soon as Alli and Lamela came on we started to build up pressure in the final third and actually looked like scoring.
