We finally get to see the best of him now that he looks almost past his injuries.

Looks faster and more powerful, running at speed, beating his man, and scoring goals. Could he be becoming the player his detractors always said he couldn't be?

Based on our recent transfer activity, we would not be able to afford a player like Lamela if we had to go out and buy one. Hope he stays healthy and motivated.

Minutes per goal or assist. This guy is gold. I was so excited when we bought him. Not disappointed! Basically a new signing this season. Poch knows. He's using him sparingly until he's totally up to speed.

After Harry this guy is my favourite player, his dedication and attitude is infectious, and after all his personal troubles and injuries I am buzzing for him. Mad to think even up until this season so many fans hated on him.

He must be a nightmare to play against. He gets stuck in, scores a goal, then dicks players for fun.

I’d want to break his leg if I played against him. Love that he plays for us.

I'd given up on Lamela before the start of the season but have to admit he's been fantastic so far. Hope this season kick starts his career with us.

I know it's easy to say in the light of a hard faught win BUT the plight of Coco (and Winks) exemplifies the trust Poch had in said players and why he didn't feel the need to pursue certain signings. However, this 'trust the gaffer' stance may well change after the next game of course....

Here's hoping Erik has finally put his injury woes behind him and can finally get a decent run in the team to show exactly how good and valuable player he can be on a consistent basis.

Very intelligent player, works his arse off and looks a true team player.

Add to this the other squad members who have had lengthy lay-offs and are near/ have returned, and hopefully we could see some wins by more of a comprehensive, emphatic nature.

Absolutely chuffed to bits where we currently sit point wise considering the fatigue and injuries we've endured thus far.

Hoping for a bit of luck on the injury free front now, and careful selection of those still waiting to get fully going post World Cup exertions.

If this is us half injured and knackered...feckin watch out for the injury free, refreshed version.

COYS.

I wish Poch would also show that trust in KWP and give him more games.

Fuck the haters Erik, you're proving your worth. To think so many fools filling up this thread with their shit all summer, "sell him", "bench player at best" yada yada. Where would we be without his goals, assists and pressing this year? I feel like his effort, pressing and passion is starting to become infectious. He's an absolute leader on the pitch.

Really good to see MOTD giving him a shout out. Deserves the plaudits from fan and pundit alike. Coming through a tough injury spell, having a baby and signing a new contract have obviously had profound effects on him. He always had the ability but suffered from being overeager at times. He has clearly matured and settled both on and off the pitch. I think he will still get better as the season continues. I look forward to see how far he can go.

I think he only got the assist for that,
although he obviously scored at some stage.
