Who isn’t chilled. You said “we all thought he was finished.”

Myself and others have simply pointed out that isn’t true.
The guy above said 'no we fucking didn't.' Like I've committed a crime, but anyway I take it back. I don't mean everyone. I mean a lot of people thought he was finished. I am sure their is the minority who kept the faith, so I appologize to anyone I offended. Time to move forward....

I have been one of his biggest supporters. Something about his attitude tells me he has that absolute desire to achieve big in the game.

I admit that at the end of last season I started to doubt if it was ever going to happen for him here.

Did you not read the negativity posts back when he had this injury? A lot of people saying that he will probably look to move on, and that we have seen his last game in a shirt.

Yep, read most of them & argued with most of them. Like a select few on here, I've been nothing but confident that the lad would end up ramming words back down the throats of the naysayers, and I'm not slightly surprised to be right.

Even in his darkest times, all the lad has ever spoken about is his love for the club, and his willingness to literally fight his way to fitness. His attitude alone gave me nothing but belief in him. His few brief cameos during those spells showed me his talent and ability was never in question.

In those brief glimpses of him, so many people on here were saying he was erratic with his passing, or gave the ball away too easily. Yet, in truth, he was simply a step ahead of everyone else & making passes that others weren't able to be on the same wavelength to be ready for.

The boy has literally everything in his locker. Work rate, tenacity, intelligence, vision. I wonder how many of his detractors now still believe he's £25mil of spunked Bale money?

For instance.....

Benteke – £27m
Slimani - £29m
Ozil - £47m
Xhaka - £43m
Lacazette - £47m
Sigurdsson - £49m
Andy Carroll - £35m
Di Maria - £59m

£25mil for Lamela ??.... Fucking bargain!!

@olliec I should point out I meant absolutely no offense when I responded with "No we fucking didn't"...

You did state "and to be honest we all thought he was finished when he was away for so long"....

That's all I was responding fella. No aggression was intended, I was just pointing out we never all thought he was finished when he was away for so long. (y)

I'm sure many people who didn't think it still had a moment of concern at some point and hoped for the best.

Many people perhaps but never me. Somehow I knew he would pull through.

I also knew Sissoko would let many on here eat humble pie. Where I got it wrong was that I believed Josh Onomah would breakout, surpassing Winks to be our new Dembele

You can't win them all.

I am currently on holiday in Mexico. Lamela has just set up Argentina’s first goal in the 1st minute with a brilliant through ball to Icardi

He only played 58 mins or so. So shouldn't be too exhausted for Saturday. Should be able to make the bench.
He’ll only be in training on Friday. He might make the bench which means he’ll only play 12 minutes max on Saturday as Poch doesnt make subs until the 78th minute. He sure as hell wont start unfortunately

Is there any update on Lamela's injury and when he might be back?
I'd like to know as well, although some people definitely have some unnatural dislike of him. This morning, a chef at my office asked me, "how d'you fancy our chances against Leicester?"

Me: "Kane normally grabs a goal or four, so no doubt it'll be 1-0 to them now I've said that."

Him: "Let's just hope Poch sticks with Son 'cause Lamela's done fuck all in the last two games." :banghead:

Yes, the last two games. You know, the ones where he's not played due to injury.

I thought Lamela was great when he came on last night

Changed the game for us with his running from deep and calm lay offs. I couldn't give him MOTM last night but he wasn't far off and can makes a huge difference for us in the last 20/30mins

Missed him in the squad v the scum too

13 goals and 3 assists from lamela and moura this season, such an upgrade on last season. I doubt anyone we could have bought would have instantly contributed more.

The only other bought players that have made any impact in top 6 are mahrez 7 and shaqiri 3.

He's going to get so much unnecessary shit for this game. He was genuinely the only dangerous player the entire time he was on. Got in good positions through out, put a ball on a platter for Lucas in the first half, etc.

Son missed chances when he came on, Kane was invisible, Dele was invisible, Lucas was invisible but yet Lamela was the one getting slagged in the match thread.

The cut -up state of the pitch was a big handicap for us. See how many times our forward four were deceived by the bad bounces of the ball.

I was a bit frustrated with him I don’t know why during the match but reviewing the game he did well. So unlucky not to score. Hart pulled off a great save.
