I think he's had his chance now. Whilst I have always liked him as a player he just isn't fit enough to keep at the club. Poch has to be ruthless with him and cast him aside. As bad as that sounds he's just taking up a foreign player squad place and can't play.

Sissoko possesses pace, power and directness. Things that Lamela sadly doesn't

Lamela is 100% direct. He’s one of our most direct players. I think he’s got some alright pace and power too, tbh. Obviously he doesn’t match Sissoko on the power front but not many football players do. Sissoko’s built like a rugby player.

You can't have Lamela without lame, and sadly that's all he seems to be nowadays. Time to cut our lossess and part ways.

I think my old pal Francis Gibbs is being rushed to hospital right now, reading all these posts, that or he is surely turning in his grave.

Thing is all his points were, and continue to be, bullshit.

The arguments against Lamela were never about his availability, they were about his ability. That's never been in question for anyone with half a brain.

The difference is that now time has shown that his body simply can't stand up to the physical pressure and he cannot play enough games. That's the problem, not any questions around his talent or effectiveness. That's why you've got Coco-lovers like myself and many others saying he's done because physically he literally is - but we'd love nothing more than for him to be fit and injury-free.

What ability?..... I jest I jest . Yes it is sad that he can't put 5-10 games together without picking up an injury.

I wouldn't sell him just yet though. Buy more quality and keep him for squad depth.

Talking about Lamela and his constant unavailability anyone else think Winks is another brittle player.

Poch's latest comments have emphasised my own concerns about this because it pretty much reads as though nobody has a fucking Scooby what his problem actually is.

Harry Winks we don’t know because it is a problem that is one day very good, next day not very good, it is about assessing each day. We hope he will be available for Tuesday but we are not sure."

Yeah he misses too many games as well in a season. This season alone we've missed Lamela/Dier/Kane/Winks and Wanyama for extended periods.

As I've said in other threads, if we want to operate with a small squad, we can't afford any passengers.

Then it truly is time to do away with sentiment, get ruthless & ship out those who can't be depended upon when we need them.

As many have pointed out previously, it's what Alex Ferguson did for 2 decades & things went sort of OK for him during that time.
