He cant even get the fee right for Lamela though, when sold to Roma....makes the rest of that piece a bit questionable to me.

That's what pisses me off about the papers its not very often that any of them get any information correct bloody disgraceful, that and has anyone else noticed how few other clubs repeatedly get their players and manager discussed in relation to moves and transfers when obvious they are staying put or have long contracts. :-(

But I think AVB is aiming to shift to his preferred 433 next season which would effectively remove the AMC role. Ether way as much as I rate Lamela very highly, I think he is quite similar to Bale in some ways, I think for the amount it would take to bring him to us we could use on positions we are clearly lacking. Regardless of my opinion Levy won't be spending 24 plus mil on a midfielder.
Unless it was in preparation for Bale moving on next season.
Better to buy a replacement a season ahead otherwise with £80+m burning a hole in our pockets everyone will quote us inflated prices Ala Liverpool with Andy Carroll / Jordan Henderson.

This would be boner inducing. Such upside to this player, imo. A real FM/FIFA signing. Like, no ways, I have him in my side!

Never seen Bernard play, but seen Lamela and would obviously prefer him for the Bernard prices being touted tbh. Would be such a quality signing, if next season kit is good I'd have his name on my back if it wasn't for Bale.

Pjanic we have made official bids for in the past. I'd imagine he was the most likely of the Roma contingent

Reckon we could get him for like £22m?
No, I think he will be around 27-30, he is only 21 and considered one of the best attacking mid prospects in the world. I think he is still worth it but I don't see us making a move unless we sell Bale as Lamela could potential take on the Bale role as he sometimes plays for Roma cutting in from the right. He's left footed. Great player.

Not going to happen unless Roma are in real financial trouble.

Celebrations at the lane would get boring anyway.....

Lazy journalism. So just because we have Baldini Roma are going to sell us all their best players? What BS!

Think it would hinge on the fact he brought them in personally and the fact that we have a European competition in our locker. Think Roma and us are fairly similar sized clubs, so it'd be a money/change of scenery that would be a draw, along with playing alongside one of the world's brightest talents and a highly rated manager. Reckon we'll nab one...

Just imagine an attacking three of Bale, Villa and Lamela linking up interchanging and let loose on the PL

I can't see it happen but it's nice to dream
