Guys, he not f***ing gay. He's been with "Sofia Herrero" for SEVEN years and I'm pretty sure he has a son with her, judging by some of his Twitter posts (otherwise they'd be kinda weird ).
Anyone who genuinely cares what his sexuality is needs to have a long hard look at themselves. Most important thing is his performance for the team not anything else.

Whenever a player has had a prolonged unexplained absence in recent years eg. Wilshere, Carroll, Berahino, it has always been drug related. I would say that is the only logical conclusion.

It's always been a bit like that in here. Pretty much all of my negative ratings from this forum are from this thread because I have the audacity to not rate Lamela.

There was definitely a large amount of people who were so desperate for Lamela to make it that as soon as he started playing better he was seen as the second coming and his general contribution was hugely overstated.

Even at his best I found him one of the most frustrating players for us. I love his work rate and tenacity and if he played DM for us that would be enough but I used to get so frustrated with him in an attacking sense when he was having one of those game where every time he got the ball he ran into the opposition or gave the ball away. For the position he plays in the team we need more consistency and reliability.

You also tend to find his importance to the team is over-stated when we are on a bad run and he is missing, especially with the likes of Sissoko coming in and looking awful whereas I'm not sure people felt he was missed when we were on a good run.

He is always going to one of those players that splits opinion but generally I think everyone wants him to succeed. I feel relatively apathetic to the situation now really but putting my neck on the line I think I will be genuinely surprised if we see him in a spurs shirt again but I would be very happy to be wrong and for him to become a more valuable asset to the team.
His contribution has not been overstated. He created the 6th most chances in the PL last season. That suggests he is very important.

And that was the best he has ever played for us. We haven't seen anything like that before or after. He is capable of it so fans are right to demand more but that's just my view.

Not strictly true. He made about the same number of key passes and chances created per 90 minutes in the games this season compared to last season.

I have no problem with people demanding more, I agree he needs to score more goals, but I think the suggestion he isn't important or that only members of some sort of cult rate him is ridiculous. Obviously you didn't go that far, but even then I don't understand what you mean by saying his contributions are overstated. I think some fans go over-the-top with suggestions he is our most important player, but the facts are that he is vital to our creativity.

We haven't seen anything like it before because that was his only season since he joined us without a flipping injury!

Maybe if he hadn't of had this injury this season he may have produced more of the same and saved me from having to witness the carthorse sissoko play so many times for us in the white shirt

He hasn't played for four months, you could recover from a hip replacement in that time frame. His hip injury is like Gareth Bale's strained buttock.
You haven't got a clue what his specific hip problem is though, do you, it could be anything. Unless you're part of the spurs medical team you have absolutely no detailed information to go on.

So you're just making shit up to fulfill your own agenda.

Lolz! We haven't seen anything like that before or since. You act like he's been at spurs as long as walker

He played just one full season before that, and has barely played this season

Do you actually believe the shit you posted there? Its laughable to say the least.
Wow - so you do not believe a player has any right to privacy?
It is the player's registration that is bought and sold, not the person themself.
Clubs do not own the players, nor the fans by extension, so you are not owed any explanations.
Medical records are confidential, and so are many of the FA's actions.
You might not like it, but that is the way it is.

I know it's not a failed drugs test, but you gotta ask why whoever manages his media profile decided to get search results hidden on Google by the "Right to Forget", when you search for "Erik Lamela drugs". You get this at the bottom of the search:

"Some results may have been removed under data protection law in Europe. Learn more"

Maybe they dont want his name slandered, but they need to think about the Streisant effect when doing that.
Great spot!

Indeed, that also happens when you search for "Erik Lamela alien". What are they trying to hide?

It actually turns up with any search featuring the chap, so he must be up to all sorts. Keeping up with a reputation management challenge like that must be a full time job for our Google notifications team.

I know for a fact clubs/agents/medical teams cover up all kinds of stuff because it best serves the club/player/fans for the truth not to get out. I don't know for a fact the reason for Lamela's long term absence. What I do know though is shouting out its likely a failed drug test, based on a fairly vague post by GF is fairly pointless, and all it does is fuel the flames for the gossips and doom mongers. This is someones life and career we are talking about, and we all know how these things snowball on the net. That's why you will get a neg rep from me.
You're absolutely entitled to your views and I appreciate your contributions to this website.

My view is that this board is for discussion and when the facts are vague and then a well known ITK then adds more uncertainty, then it can naturally lead to speculation and I don't mind that. It's part of the fun of being a non-official club forum where we're not being censored from having the discussion.

You and some others do mind that. That's cool, but a little picture of a tin of spam won't suppress me into not at least having the discussion with others that want to have it.

I've been on here for 11 years and one of the best things about this forum is the variety of debate and views. If you start suppressing that then you end up like the other Spurs forum I care not to name.

You get the same when searching for "Dele Alli drugs" or "Christian Eriksen drugs" or even "Mother Theresa drugs". This fucking thread...

Nobody is trying to suppress you from having reasoned discussion - people have an issue with the unfounded speculation about him being a druggie.

What possessed Grey Fox to post what he did is anybody's guess. I could take a stab at it, but I am on thin ice.
