If Bale stays and we get William, we will have a very good team, If Bale goes and we get William, Lamela and the RM left Back, then we will have an even better team, up to you now DL..

This. The players need time to bed in too... City learned that

Alternatively, when Mourinho arrived at Chelsea the first time he bought a bunch of players and gelled them together right away. So using City as an example is a bit bias, as it all depends on the squad unity and who you add and crucially who you sell. We appear to have kept a few characters like Sandro, so I think any new signings will slot in fast.

Fair point bout Chelsea, I was generalising and using City to back up my point.

Inmho i would imagine the step up in pursuit of Willian is down to the club realising that Lamela is probably going to sign a new contract. This along with Roma having sold Osvaldo meaning they are under less pressure to sell. Just my onion

The step up in pursuit of Willian is probably more opportunistic than anything else.

The step up in Willian could be due to any number of things. Could be that he wants to play in the Prem but having seen Liverpool may have texted AVB to ask us to step up. Could be you know who is off. Could be Lamela is off the table. Could just be that after yesterday, AVB has realised we need more creativity.

If that's true then it's a big shame as I think Lamela would have been the better signing. I just hope it's not us dropping the interest in Lamela just because Willian might be going to Pool. Lamela will be the better player in a few years. I think there will be a lot of news on both deals over the next two days so better hold on for the ride.

Sweet Jebus, give us Willian and Lamela. Also let Bale stay for just one more season. After all these years of being ever suffering spurs fans, we deserve a season of pure bliss.

I will be most upset if we sign Willan and then the scousers get Lamela

I really don't think anyone will get Lamela if we don't, especially with General Franco running negotiations. My feeling is that if he doesn't come to the Lane then he doesn't go anywhere. Just my opinion. I simply get the feeling that he'll take the new contract. As for Liverpool, I really can't see Ian Ayre and Brenton Rogers out-selling and out-negotiating Baldini, Levy and AVB.

#Roma tell #Lamela that if #Spurs come in with €30m offer then they will sell them. #Garcia wants to keep #Pjanic.

From a guy who is an Italian football commentator apparently

Lamella is SO yesterday afternoon :p

Seriously, I'd all but given up on this with the Osvaldo move and the purported new contract. Interesting news. But what does this mean for Willian?! Oh man I can't take this :banghead:

Its got to the point now that I want Bale to be sold so that these players can come in and make us stronger.

Would love for that to be true, seems do-able too even without bale money if JL rumours are true, question is though would it be him and Willian or just one of them. If it's the later, simply looking for the future, would want Lamela. Younger so could be with us for longer and hopefully help make us a real force

I doubt any deal for Willian will have a direct impact on this transfer. It is Bale's future which will decide this imo.
