You guys delude yourselves with this signing. Got the same 'hmmmm this doesn't feel right at all' feeling I had with VJ.

Round peg.

If I end up eating shit, fair play. Would much prefer he prove an effective deputy, than be right, and he prove not.

Who would you have preferred?

Ossie pronounces it the Argentine way. Spaniards do indeed pronounce it as we would the letter 'Y'.

No, the Argentine way would be SHorente. The double L is pronounced as SH here

The proper spanish way to say it is LLIorente, that when said fast sounds like Yorente

I thought he was a strange sub for the game against BVB. We were running at them hard while they were enjoying the possession. He seemed unsuited for this game.

In the Prem we have generally been comfortable in possession. When chasing goals a striker who is top quality in the air and goal scoring instinct can be vital in breaking teams down. Kane might get more of a chance to come deeper looking for the ball with another striker on.

It's more the type of player he is and type of team we are now. It just simply doesn't feel like the right fit.

If Kane gets injured - touch wood he stays injury free this season - we could have him in for a long stretch and I just can't picture it working. I am trying, trust me.

Because he's slow and cumbersome?

His hold up play is second to none though. He won't run the channels like Harry does but equally he can be a good foil for holding it up and bringing Alli into play from knock downs etc

I'm actually intrigued by him and Kane playing together

It was and a speedy attacker (cant think of one literally atm writing this) would make better sense; but you kinda expected this as Poch just wanted to give him the debut at the first CL home game. When we were 2 up and with 5 -10 mins to go, not too unreasonable. Kane got the standing ovation too...but I agree it's a bit of a gamble.

Against teams that sit back, he will be a very valuable asset

btw the double L in his last name is pronounced like in miLLIon (including the i). So it would be like LLIORENTE

Thought you would say it should be pronounced schorente che...:)

Edit Just saw you commented on this above...

The sub made sense for me, experienced player who can hold the ball up to repel Dortmund's attacks and take the pressure off our defenders.

Loved it. Not only holding the ball up and drawin that free kick, but also shithousing to the extent that it threw West Ham further off balance.

Didn't do much tonight.... But just having him in the team draws defenders towards him.

Freeing up Kane to get his 2nd and 3rd goals of the night.

To get him involved in games, as he was hardly having a touch when he came on.

He got a good bit of the ball against West Ham, if Alli had of been on form he would of had an assist. Let's wait till he at least gets a start or more than 20mins before you have to eat shit big lad.

Someone who doesn't need new knees.

Obviously far too early to write him off but so far, even taking his limited game time into account, he hasn't done anything noteworthy at all. I hope there's a lot more to come from him.
