But what did he do?

Son was at the very least trying

His touch was good largely, and our more active players used him as a target man with his flicks round the corner (see the goal). I don't think he was great, but I don't think he was as terrible as he has been before and definitely not as bad as some make out

I just feel if he worked harder for the cause and put himself about more we'd see a much better player and his quality would come out.

You've got to make things happen for yourself, it feels like he's waiting for it to happen.

We bought llorente instead of a pacy wide forward? I was willing to give Janssen another season but instead we buy over 30 year old slow striker which doesn't make any sense to me at all..
Look at you fools who gave me spam and other stupid ratings. I told you llorente is trash and thank god kane hasn't been injured for long period of time or else we would be midtable.

Llorente aka the slavic beggar must go

Like him or not, we're stuck with him for the next few months. While he's no Harry Kane, he wasn't that bad. On another night he could have set Son up for two or three goals with some nice one touch stuff on the edge of the box. At least a replay means more game time, which he and a few others look like they desperately need.

Harry Kane absorbs every striker we sign. Absorbed Soldado, Janssen, Adebayor and now Llorente. They are all husks that are expected to be able to kick a ball whilst Harry Kane evolves like Cell from Dragonball Z.

I thought this was common knowledge.

Judgement on Llorente is very one sided at present. The guy is not playing well and that is a given but as always when the spotlight falls on an individual player it is looked at in isolation and focuses on only him.

One of the biggest problem for Llorente is the style we play which is geared to a mobile short quick passing. Quickness between Kane Alii and Eriksen This is just not Llorente. He does not belong in that approach. To make him effective he needs someone playing much closer to him, a genuine second striker and many more crosses so that he or the second striker can feed off the service This is alien to our current style and it is very hard to change for a one off game or even last 10 -15 minutes.

The answer really is to find someone who will understudy Kane but that will not be an expensive "name" It will be an up and coming or someone who maybe cannot manage more that 20 games a year ( similar situation to Vorm being LLoris understudy) Maybe a Sturidge type if he is not fixated on being in the world cup / England place

Shame this hasn't worked out, I've always liked Llorente. I think Janssen showed a lot more last year than we've seen so far from FL. Given the option Poch had at that point you can't blame him for signing FL. 15 goals for a crap team last year was a good return. Pretty sure we will move him on in the summer and I would expect us to use Son when Kane is out and try and sign some more creativity in behind him.

He might not be doing the business on the pitch but off it sounds like Harry is getting experience...thats more than enough for me! hahah

Referring to Spurs' summer signing Fernando Llorente, Kane added: "Fernando is great at that.

"He's tall, solid, uses his arms well to push players off, and that's important. I've been watching him in training holding the ball up. I try to learn from every player.

"It's great having him here, he's a great guy and has great experience as well."

Kane is a talent vampire for strikers. Anyone we buy he just slowly feeds off over the year and absorbs their skills.
