He had two clear cut easy 'Target man' heading chances but couldn't finish either... You know someone is done when people have to go back to his past credentials, that was years ago he has clearly lost his reflexes. Have a look back at his chances he tried the header when the ball was way past him.

Klose has won the world cup, champions league ect that doesn't mean he's the same player today. Llorente can be an amazing target man coach but not a player, he knows what to do but his body can't react anymore.
I see your point, but all strikers miss chances regardless, being so rusty doesnt help with sharpness either. His only 33, and doesn't rely on pace, your quoted player Klose won the world cup at 36....

Bit conflicted about Llorente.
He had a poor game defo
but has been (no pun intended)
a top top player.
Had a good pre-Tottenham in the Prem
at Southampton
but doesn't get the opportunities
to keep sharp.
Hope he starts against Chelsea
with Lamela off him.
even with infrequent appearances
has scored two hat-tricks for us.

With Kane, Son and Dele out of the frame, are we really going to dump Janssen for £10m and leave ourselves with just Llorente?

Having played so little competitive football, we're a hamstring away from dipping into the academy.

We've got more than a full squad of senior players. If we're ever going to sign more quality, we have to get rid of some that are already here. Besides, Pochettino have made it rather clear that Janssen is behind both Sterling and Parrott on the pecking order. Personally I'd play Janssen against Palace in the cup.

We're going to need this guy to step up.

Needs a complete jolt though, we need a bit more umph from him.

I don't understand how we played with llorente and yet it felt like we only really started pinging balls into the box in the 91st minute. The gameplan should have been more varied with an emphasis on trying to get the best out of llorente with dele playing just off him... however for the majority of the game we were tippy tapping around the box as Fulham camped out with 9 men behind the ball.

We had a week off to recuperate and prep but it looked like the team did not know what they were doing, particularly in the first half.

Having said that, he was pretty awful. No energy, no drive, poor touch and had 2 golden opportunities (that someone who is valued for his heading skills) should have scored.

Because we've only got one player that can cross consistently.. and he spends all his time moving the ball inside.

So, according to Martin Tyler Llorente has only scored when he’s started a game for us (fair enough as when he comes on as a sub he only gets a few minutes). All stats sites I can find don’t differentiate between starts and subs in appearances, so does anyone know his ‘starts to goals’ ratio stats?

Yes, he should have done much better when he missed an open goal, but I think he gets too much hate. Look at the crosses from Eriksen and Rose, they got stuck on the first defender all the time. More quality on the crosses and he will score more goals and create more chances for his team mates. He got one decent cross during the whole game, and he scored from it.

Happy for him!!! You can see he tries with all he has but he just isn't good enough at the end of the day. Missing sitters today and against palace.
