Poch has had 3 years to buy a pacy winger. If it was a priority to him and think it would of happened by now. Llorente is a piece of brilliant business in my opinion

I quite like this idea

Can anyone explain to me why... Llorente gives me tingles in areas that no other player does

We bought llorente instead of a pacy wide forward? I was willing to give Janssen another season but instead we buy over 30 year old slow striker which doesn't make any sense to me at all..
Poch had already made his plan and is just continuing with it and it didn't include Janssen, the problem is that Janssen came back before he signed for Brighton but that doesn't mean he claims a place in the squad.
The pacey forward, if we were after one, didn't materialise but that is not connected to Lorente.
Seems to me you wanted a pacey winger, to keep Janssen and not to buy Llorente, fair enough that is up to you but they really are three different things not one.

The priority for someone who could rotate/replace/cover Kane was a far more important signing than a wide, pacy, forward.
Son, and to a lesser extent GNK, provide reasonable options in this department whereas Janssen wasn't even close in competing with Harry.

Not that I wouldn't have minded a top class one if available but RB, Kane cover, and CB (assuming we go with 3-4-3) were much higher priorities.

Not sure why the OP got so many 'Spam' posts. It's a legitimate question for someone who perhaps hasn't had the time to keep up with the ITK chat.

Some were advocating a 'pace forward' who could double up as a striker or give Dele, Eriksen and Son a challenge for a starting berth. In reality the only player of this sort of ilk mentioned was Anthony Martial, and it soon became apparent that was going nowhere.

I think Llorente is a good signing. Kane will need a rest or will get injured. Pochettino hasn't seen enough from Janssen for him to be confident that he can drive us on and be an adequate replacement so invested. A decent signing, I think as in reality asking a top striker to come and play second fiddle to Kane was always going to be a big ask.

Run run run, pace pace pace..moan, moan, Liverpool are so great to watch, why aren't we more like them..

i guess its just so boring to most that the point keeps being brought up, when Poch has never set up a team to need pace, whether it be wide or over the top and we continually finish above these 'exciting' gung ho teams. Yes, it would be a nice option, but deary me.

and so would it be hard to sign a pacey forward to come and sit on the bench when our strongest XI is available.

not being funny, but Liverpool have bundles of pace, they had it last season, yet their worst results where against teams that parked the bus.

when we had Arry as boss we had a shit defence, and pace was bril with Bale and Lennon, because we were hitting teams on the counter, now days we play 28 matches a season trying to get past 2 parked buses. yes we could do with that pace v the teams that do push us back, but hard to buy quality that's willing to sit on the bench, and get paid the wages we do (not going to change until new stadium is up and running, before anyone suggest we need to pay more)

edit: our defence wasn't shit, just not as organised as it is today
