He looked interested against Real Madrid. Against West Ham not so much.

He likes it to feet, and for others to run off him. Too often last night he was getting the kind of balls that would suit Kane, looking for him to run in behind, which isn't his game. & a lot of his lay offs weren't anticipated with the exception of the first goal and a couple of other instances. It's a case of his teammates not being used to him which is understandable because 99% of the time Kane plays.

Doesn't he train with them most days of the week?

Well yes, of course. I'm saying Kane & Llorente are different types of player & the majority of the squad has trained more & played more with Kane than Llorente. So they are more used to giving the type of service that Kane requires than Llorente. I thought this was quite apparent during yesterdays match. If you disagree, fair enough, people see things differently.

Bit confused as to why he was taken off, just before our tactic changed to lumping balls into the box...

We did not play to his strengths at all last night. Lots of crosses were going far post (most from Rose were going row z tbh!). The one time we hit his strength he plays the most sexual of touches and we end up scoring from it.

We then go back to lumping balls in the box and he has no hope... so Poch thinks hmmmm, lets take off our striker and leave an even smaller guy in there to receive these crosses.

It was bad management to an extent, and then bad play for the rest of it last night

Not convinced he is fully fit and up to speed with the way that we play yet - not that I'm expecting him to become a speed merchant but better at anticipating what others will do and so be in the right place for it.

I still think he is a sensible purchase and won't judge him too harshly on the League Cup game as it was a bit of an omnishambles anyway.

I looked at his goals from last season around the time we signed him, and I couldn't help but notice that a lot of them were against cannon fodder.

Maybe because Poch knew Kane was likely to be out for Man U and wanted Lorente as fresh as possible for that game? If so I'm happy with his priorities.

It's his time to make us stop questioning. He has slowed that is for sure, but he is still far and above what Vincent is and will ever be IMO, But he has the perfect opportunity to come on and show why we spent the coin on him. Come on you Llorente!

Didn't we buy him exactly for this reason? I'd be amazed if he doesn't start tomorrow. If he's not been signed to come in if Kanes injured we might as well start looking for another striker in January.

Think a lot of the comments are a bit harsh, as I think he has done ok. What he lacks for in a goal threat he makes up for in creativity. He seems more than capable of some tidy flicks and headers like the one to Son for Sissoko's goal against West Ham. He also did a nice header to Eriksen against Madrid and weighted the ball perfectly to Kane who had broke free.

Yeah he is pretty slow and a bit cumbersome, but he is an intelligent player who's first thought at the moment seems to be to look for runners. He isn't going to drive forward with the ball which is what our other attackers are used to with Kane, but he definitely offers a good dimension which should get better with time.
