Honestly I’d rather have Janssen. At least he got stuck in rustled a few feathers and things happened off back of that. But finding a deputy to Kane is proving to be a bit of a nightmare.Someone in prime of career is never gonna sit on bench. So it’s either young up and coming or older at tail end.

I wouldn't mind if we tried to sign Watford's Richarlison. He's young, quick and already has experience playing in the PL.

Main criticism of Janssen was his lack of goals not his link up play. I don’t think Llorente has even had a shot for us yet.

(a) He has had a poor pre-season and limited game time so far.
(b) He has played much better than all your knee-jerk reactions suggest.
(c) To get the best out of him, we need to play a different style - which, aside from Madrid away, we haven't yet done.
(d) Name another centre forward who we should have bought instead, who was actually a realistic target.

I'm confident we'll be targeting Zaha again in January. There's an argument that we should have bitten the bullet then.

Indeed, would have been nice to have Zaha (and Llorente) this summer. Not sure how much Zaha would have cost though? I have some doubts over Zaha, but if we can get him at a decent price then I'm sure Pochettino could improve him - he has the raw talent.

He'll be 45m at least I would have thought. If we don't pay it another top trophy winning club will.

I don't think Palace will sell in Jan no matter what's offered. We should go all in, in the summer though. Him and Barkley could give this team some real power and pace with a lot of potential to improve on top of that.

As much as I hate him, Giroud is incredibly effective, mainly because he's arsenal's plan B when their tippy tappy stuff isn't working. See how many of his goals come in the last 15 of a game.

We buy a big target man, and continue to play the same way. Great in the air, and we have players with the ability to deliver, yet we don't put a ball in the box.

Showed his class with against Madrid. Could of had 2 assists. Don't write him off too soon, but we need to start playing to utilise him best (when needed, not saying to become stoke circa Pulis)

If I was interviewing Poch id be asking some really tough questions about the recruitment of attacking players and why when we get them they perform much worse for us than their previous clubs. In Llorente`s case I think it is not giving the guy crosses and high balls to allow him to bully centre backs

He was excellent against Madrid, I think there is a clever player in there. He's not a lone striker for me, he is very unselfish and looks for runners and lay offs. I don't really expect him to score double figures in a season for us to be honest

As above, it's unlikely we will get a backup with all Kane's strengths as he has so many. Lukaku looks a real donkey by comparison. So we might have to pick from a venn diagram of 'works his arse off', 'holds the ball up', 'deadly in front of goal', 'deceptively quick and direct running' etc. So what we could at least do is try and alter our game a little to play to the strengths of that backup.. Otherwise they are always going to be pissing in the wind. Llorente was good against Madrid because we used his skills, there was barely a sniff for him in the box at the weekend and that does not make sense. Even Lukaku managed to hit the post from a hit and hope cross that knew he would be in the box bustling for it and he was clown shoes apart from that.

What did Lorente do ?
..From the Rose thread...
When the sky camera panned around at the end the game, showing the likes of Vertoghen and Sanchez absolutely mortified, Llorente was shown kidding around with the scum with a big smile on his face.
Maybe it was just unfortunate timing but it very much looked liked he has no idea how important the game he had just played in was.

I try to stay away from moaning at players for smiling, but it did got on my tits on this occasion.

Proud of the lads who did look gutted though, we have a lot who really do care.
