I wouldn't necessarily say we're playing to the guy's strengths

He's a pretty route-one footballer, so I wouldn't expect anything too fancy from the bloke, but he can play a part.

There are definitely games where we can utilise him like we did against Madrid away.

What with the form of Alli and Eriksen recently, it's a shame we haven't played Llorente up top with Kane and Son in behind. To be honest, I think that would have worked quite well against the bus-sitters at Wembley.

If we miss out on Champions League football by one point then that miss is going to look even worse.

He was very good at the Bernabeu but otherwise I'd have preferred to have Soldado this season, let alone Janssen. Unacceptable so far.

I can only rationalise this signing because of his experience and nothing else. He has offered little more than Janssen did last year and at least the small cameos Janssen had he run his bollocks off ....

Not impressed so far at all and I thought when we signed him on TDD he would prove a bit of a coup. Just goes to show what I know!

I reckon he's probably one of those target man type strikers that need several games on the bounce to get going, when's he going to get that in this team?

I know being a striker is a confidence game but he knew when he signed for us he was going to be backup to Kane. There's literally zero pressure on him as whether he's shit or incredible he's on the bench again next game. Yet his confidence is shot, the amount of golden opportunities he's missing this season is a joke.

Why do we seem to keep buying these mentally weak strikers who entire world falls apart if misses one chance or isn't regularly starting games. I really liked him before signed him and thought it was such a smart signing but it's been disgusting so far.

We should just give up on him now, after that Dortmund one on one we know how this goes, just give his minutes from now to Sterling. At least it gives him experience and you never know it might save us spending on another good striker who turns into a weak minded complete clown minute they put our shirt on.

Rebrov, Postiga, Soldado, Janssen, Llorente. We sign a lot of expensive duds. There was a time we had too many strikers, Defoe, Keane, Berbatov, Pav etc, even before that throw Kanoute and Mido in the mix.

Time to make a move for Richarlison in the window and get a hopefully improved Vinnie back next season

I hope he just offer advices from his experience to the young players in the team, that's it.

A 10mil consultation fee, I'll take that

I'd actually start him against Watford just for a bit of variation, even though he missed an easy chance I felt he allowed Kane a bit more space.

I've had enough of these cheap purchases. If Llorente was any good he wouldn't have been at Swansea. In fact, watching his highlights reel from last season (15 goals), they're mainly headers. Some of them not very convincing headers. There's nothing in the vids to suggest his all round game was right for us. I think it was another terrible mistake to buy the guy. Our transfer committee have a lot to answer for. We went from flirting with Keita Balde and Martial, to Llorente. WHAT?? What exactly was the strategy here?

i actually think in the right team he is decent, but he scores most of his goals from crosses and our two full backs Rose and Walker who gave us width and regularly got forward and crossed from the byline are either gone or injured, he has shown nothing really to show him and kane would work well, it seems an utterly pointless and ill thought out signing

If he's a 32 year old without a pre-season and a reasonable amount of time on the sidelines this summer, then why the fuck did we sign him? Surely you're signing a 32 year old to make an impact immediately. It seems to have affected him massively for us and now he's lost all confidence.
Because he was the best of what we could find in the last minute bargain basement bin.

I’m sorry but I just don’t buy this bollocks that we can’t have a good second striker. The smart thing to do though might be to bring in a Martial type.

I've defended him for most of the season, but after seeing Janssen and Soldado miss sitters for us in previous years, watching him miss last night and cocking up that 1v1 against Dortmund, the signs are there that things aren't going to get better. It's a shame really as I was excited for him joining, but we've seen it before...
