You can instantly tell he is EXACTLY what we need/we have been missing. And its scary that he made such an impact in such short time.

Direct. Very quick. Technical. Work Rate. Awareness. Team player.

After such a derailing and drawn out transfer to the club. I truly believe this transfer will be worth the wait.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised...I was expecting a slightly more raw performance, similar to Clintons first few showings...good pace but not the best first touch and little bit erratic with the ball at his feet. BUT he had a decent touch, quick with the ball at his feet, direct and he even tracked back to win the ball after he was beaten to the ball on 1 occasion.

He'll only get better with games so I'm excited :)

At full tilt without the ball i cant think of a faster player in the pl? Seriously...there was 1 monent were we hoofed it up the pitch to clear it bounced to a cska cb and this guy decided to press from a deper starting position. He covered 1/3 rd of the pitch in a ridiculously short time. Faster than n jie and lennon and even walker id say.

one thing i noticed was how happy the other members of the squad were with his performance. after tracking back and recovering the ball after we lost it up the pitch, Vertonghen literally applauded his effort and after the game Son was pointing at him and gave him a big hug... as well as 1 or 2 others

Looks to have a great attitude, good character and amazing pace. Looks a similar build and style to Sterling, but maybe that's just me.

The lack of runs by our players when he was on the ball was shocking. They just stood an watched him!

Yeah, but we're talking late in the game whilst protecting a one goal lead, he's not going to have a full back overlapping him or midfielders leaving their men to break into the box.

In a game we're fighting to snatch the winner in he'll have plenty of willing runners.

The attackers (mainly Son and Lamela) were in or around the box just standing there. Them being static was doing nothing to protect our lead, if anything, it was giving CSKA's defence & midfield a break, so they can conserve energy to use to attack us.

Look at the play from 1:14 in that video, Eriksen just stands off showing no support, leaving us with 3 players v 7 around the box and Son and Lamela just stand there, watching offering no support and no target in the box. We were lucky GKN could keep the ball for so long (and he only just managed to) otherwise we would have lost possession. That was with 8 mins still to go, only 1-0 up to get our first CL win too, so no excuse for that IMO.

Look at the play starting at 1:53 in the vid, Lamela makes the right (and easy) run there and GKN can make an easy pass to him and Lamela can get a shot at goal inside the box.

Of course, and I noticed it last night too. But there's a balance to be made between running into space and maintaining shape. Maybe the players can be accused of not striking that balance on occasion last night in the closing segments of the game but I'd not see that as something "shocking".

Georges-Kevin N’Koudou
Tottenham fans would have been forgiven for doubting N’Koudou’s very existence for most of the last transfer window. The saga involving his quasi-swap deal with Clinton N’Jie threatened to become the most tedious story of the summer, and the Frenchman has been forced to wait for his chance since eventually arriving – 30 minutes against Gillingham, closer to 30 seconds against Middlesbrough.

On Tuesday, Spurs fans got a glimpse of what N’Koudou could be and what N’Jie never was. Brought on with 25 minutes remaining, he immediately moved onto the left wing and beat the right-back, winning a corner. His directness gave Pochettino’s team an added dimension and therefore impetus, but it also moved Son into a central role, with the winner forthcoming.

Given Vincent Janssen’s struggles up front – more on that later – Pochettino must be considering making this a permanent switch in the absence of Harry Kane, although maybe not for the visit of Manchester City on Sunday when Son’s industry will be cherished on the left. One other option would be Erik Lamela wide left and Son as a false nine.

For N’Koudou, a bright start. He could do nothing more to demonstrate his potential worth to his new manager, and his talent to supporters watching from home. As the only out-and-out winger in Tottenham’s squad, the worst he offers is an exciting Plan B.

I'd start him in a heartbeat on Sunday. Against a likely high pressing Pep side he'd be the key to hitting them on the break.
