Latest Kane quotes saying there are no contract talks ongoing or planned, which flys in the face of the ITK quite a bit.

I like that he seems to be putting pressure on the club to improve, he can't be taken for granted.

Playing Devils advocate it could be the club are planning on offering him a new contract, but that it hasn’t been put to Kane or his agent yet.

Yeah it's probably so early in the process that the player himself hasn't even been involved yet.

I hope Levy takes note because if he doesn’t splash the cash on some true quality in the summer and make us truly competitive enough to win the league then I fear Kane might be off.

And frankly I wouldn’t blame him, all Kane wants is us moving in the right direction constantly, I am not going to hold that against him because I would be exactly the same.

If we lost Kane it would be the end of this team and I seriously think Poch would go as well, not trying to be pessimistic here but that sounds like a highly likely outcome if it were to happen, Kane in 2-3 years time at this rate will be the best player in the world imo, we have to match his ambition or throw what we have built away by being foolish.

That’s down to Levy.

Is very important that to be honest, we see even Messi doing it at Barcelona.

If I'm being honest I personally don't think we can continue to just keep buying prospects, or the likes of Kane will not be greatly encouraged. I feel like we've almost used up our years of not winning anything but convincing current players we're in a development stage. We really do need to start pushing on now.

How long is on his current deal? Would love the idea of him signing a 7 year deal. Would show real intent on ensuring not only we are protecting ourselves, but also the willing to meet his understandable aims.

I genuinely don't think we are far off, but we need to ensure our wages are attractive enough to ensure our back ups/rotation options are kept relatively happy.

Football is never going to be a 'value for money' exercise. It's moving towards just being a dick swinging contest for the mega rich.

I reckon we've got 2 and a half years to win or achieve something notable before he will start to question whether he wants to stay here.

I know he loves us but I find it hard to believe a man of his talent won't want to win something at some point.

Yep, I reckon even before that. I find it baffling that people are surprised he might leave. Those thinking he's going to sit at Spurs winning nothing are in cuckooland. Kane's about as driven and ambitious as they come.

He's going to beat Teddy's PL record very soon. He clearly wants to lead us out at the new stadium - that's something he will want to do that other, maybe less-attached players won't be that arsed about. Beyond that… well…

Dunno really. Think a lot depends on where we're at as a club and importantly whether Poch's still here, and whether when other players leave, we replace them with good enough people. There are question marks over a few of our players leaving - Toby, Dier, Rose, Lloris surely at some point - and it will be telling how we replace them, for everyone involved. How long will we be hampered by the stadium, and how quickly will it help us?

He'll be 26 by the end of next season. Currently he's doing his bit more than the team is…

(Worth adding that Coutinho's last LFC deal was signed in January 2017 and ran to 2022 with no buyout clause. This stuff means nothing other than guaranteeing we get a good fee.)

So when do you think he'll leave?

I think if we don't qualify for Champs League next year then he may consider leaving. A lot of players will give it one more year in the new stadium.

That’s how I feel about the situation as well, hope I am wrong but I think Kane is ambitious and like I said, I feel like if we can’t match that ambition he will be gone.

Just my opinion.

I personally think that if we haven’t won anything by the end of 18/19 season and we are failing to show real ambition in the transfer market to signal we mean business and really want to win the league then he will be off.

Just want him to break Clive Allen's record of 49 goals for Spurs in a season. Is he at 28 after today?

26.

18 PL
6 CL
2 FAC

If he keeps up his current goals to games record in the league he'll finish with 34.

Which means he would need another 8 in the CL and F.A.Cup to reach 50.

Possible, but very much dependent on a decent run in the F.A.Cup.

I don't have much going in my life. I will remember that and bring it up at the end of next season confident thatyou are wrong.:)

A hat trick in the final against Ars*nil would be good... oh hang on.

What do we do to “match his ambition”? As far as I can tell the only way to “guarantee” trophies would be to outspend City and PSG. And that’s not going to happen. He could move to Real next year and not get a sniff of the CL for years with the way those two are set up, and with Barca reinvigorating their team in La Liga.

All we can do is have a genuine plan to show him we are trying to be smarter than other clubs, and building something worth believing in.

Kane: “If a player wants to go then why would you stop him? He’s not going to be in the club, he’s not going to want to play every game, he’s not going to put his heart on the line.”

Doesn't sound good unfortunately, but cannot blame him.

We need to show our ambition as a club to match his, in order to make sure he doesn't have a reason to leave.
