Lovely old expression my friend...'pass muster' we should have a thread devoted to such sayings so that the younger members can learn a little of the old language from us more senior ones.

My old man always used to say "suited and booted" when dressed up to go out and would come home "as drunk as a wheel"...(never really understood that one).

Poch was asked today about Harry Kane who has 33 goals and can he catch Clive Allen's record of 49 in the 1986/87 season. Allen was on 35 at this point in time then. I didn't realise it was so close. Part of me doesn't want him to beat it because that was my first season as a spurs fan and so nostalgically its a great thing to look back on. But if Kane beat it, it would be tremendous.

I'd have to look at the stats. It would be interesting to see their seasons and games side by side.
