Yeh apparently uefa confirmed it. The general rule for deflected goals is that if the original shot or header is on target then its given as that players goal. Off target effort means deflected player OG.
Yes it's on UEFA official site. Even though the keeper would have saved it, the shot was on target so its kane's goal

I didn't think the initial header was on target. Ill have another look at it and squint to see if that helps.

I'm sure it was going centre of the goal for am easy save but hit a defender, deflecting it to the right into another defender which deflected it into the bottom corner

Yeh it was going across goal, the from the back angle shows it more clearly the one from behind the goal.

It came across like that also but it did look like it was curving in but i cant say for certain. If it was curving in i dont think the keeper was going to get it.

More to the point, our Harry is now our joint-leading goalscorer in Europe with a certain Jermain Defoe on 23 goals.

I reckon he'll go past it...

He should pass Cliff Jones 159 goals this year, and be just short of Chivers 174 goals. That'll be fairly epic when he passes that probably before christmas next season.
After that its just Bobby Smith on 208 which he seems to be on par with, and of course Jimmy Greaves on 266 is still way out there.
I can see him passing Bobby Smith before christmas of the 20/21 season. That'll be some day. After that its a matter of whether he wants to stay, and beat greavsie, and fitness.

Yeah this is it really. Watching him and his game at the moment is just a bit weird.

If it’s him instigating it I don’t understand why, if it’s Poch again I don’t get it and if it’s a necessary adjustment because he’s burnt out at 25 then that is quite sad.

As I said above, hopefully it’s a short term thing.

Yep. Said exactly this to the bloke next to me last night, his game is a bit weird at present and he's certainly not spending enough time in the box - there were several balls in last night where he just seemed on his heals where in seasons gone by he'd have been getting across his man.

That said, if he keeps playing 'weird' games but scoring pretty much a goal a game, we wont go too far wrong this season.

On the plus side, he is getting more shots off now and after we went 2-1 up he was at his best in killing the game off, he's so good at holding the ball up and drawing fouls, i love his shithousing!

At his current rate, it will take him 38 games to beat Chivers, 89 games to beat Bobby Smith and 177 games to beat Greaves.

Kane averages 47 games per season, so could have beaten Greaves by Christmas 2022, when he is 29.

Definitely. You can't moan with a return of 10 goals in 15 games...and yet

I thought he was rubbish last night. I know he scored twice, but I thought Kane was terrible. You can't give him all that much credit for the second goal either.

He's a microcosm of us this year - playing badly generally, with occasional good bursts, but by and large picking up points/goals

I really hope he/we click soon - it's painful to watch at times. I'll take the result though. Winks was good too.

But Harry seems periodically quite ponderous. He was taking too long to get his shots away. They defended quite well admittedly but until he scored I thought he was really bad.

Ultimately, it shows the measure of the side that we've been so bad, for so long, and are still winning. As I was for most of last season (post March) - I feel like I'm taking a deep breath and waiting/hoping we'll click...and it's painful as hell

He was pretty much playing while having to piggy back a defender most of the game and won us a ton of free kicks.

He is a class above other strikers in the game combining intelligence, skill and brawn. No need to debate that. I think he has played too many games over the last two seasons and the WC was probably the straw that broke the camels back. He is still tired and that ankle affected him.

I expect a late season surge. My money is on Kane. Class is permanent.

Totally agree. Our best players are playing far too much football.

Becomes Spurs top scorer of all time in November, captains England to World Cup victory in December. Easy peasy.

Kane's goals are glossing over where he is as a player ATM.

Don't get me wrong, if a ball has to drop to anyone in the box i would want it to be him, but his general play is so off the pace ATM it's not even funny, average defenders are reacting first to things, he can't physically get into positions to hurt teams, his shots are being blocked more than ever (due to having to take extra time to take them as he is off the pace)
When he is fit, he can turn defenders and get away from them with his strong running or stand them up and cut it onto either foot shift and shoot, ATM at best in those situations he is getting fouled.

Just looks wrong to me, you can say he got the goals all you want, but the ball won't drop right to him in the box or double deflect in, every week.

I don't think it's manager instructions or that he's playing differently, i just think he can't physically do what he could up until last March. He looks exhausted almost from the first minute.

Gary Neville said when he was playing he had a spell where he didn't have a break for 2 seasons, and he hit the wall and his performances suffered, Harry has had three seasons without a break (barring injury)

Go back and watch one of his better performances from the first half of last season and see the difference (hell go back and watch a poor performance from the beginning of last season and see how his mobility is way off right now)

He is scoring goals as he is and always will be class, but he is a shadow of a fully fit Kane.

Eventually, playing as many games as he has will wear you down. He looks like he has dead legs right now as if he were in the middle of preseason doing 3 sessions a day. Is he going to play in the next internationals, I hope not even if one of them is against the US. A couple of weeks between matches would do him wonders right now.

I would be astonished if he doesn't play 90 minutes against Croatia, it's a crucial game for England. The US game is anyone's guess with the mess the FA are making of it though.
