I don't think the new stadium is going to turn us into a super club, I mean look at Newcastle. It all comes down to the owners and what they want to do and as far as I know ENIC are still an investment company.

Buy them cheap sell them for massive profits, Kane is the golden goose.

Beyond land, winning big trophies is the best way to raise the value of the club, and their investment.

I take no issues with Kabes selfishness, he works more than hard enough for the team and it does lead to goals he might otherwise not score, I just think that a tiny bit more awareness in heat of the moment situations like when the Huddersfield goalie messed up would not hamper how many he scores, merely take him from being a 9.5/10 player to 10/10 player.

Best player at the club in decades so it really isn't a gripe, just an observation.

There are at least 10 of our players that we could sell at a massive profit. But we haven't sold them.

Why do people still come out with this shit?

I think this says more about you; that you need to use some mental gymnastics in order to take someone at their word.

I do take him at his word. That while we're moving forward and not stagnating, evolving, he'll be here. We can't move much more forward without winning something - we finished 2nd - so that by it's nature means winning something.

However, that's one interview. He also says about playing abroad:

"I would never say no or yes. You'd not rule out anything. It's not something I definitely want to do, but you never rule anything out. I'm very happy here (at Tottenham), but we'll see what happens."

So it's slightly more nuanced than that. Let's not cherry pick quotes in isolation. All it says about me is that I like to take a more balanced view than just going with a line that replicates what I want to happen.

Find me a player who's left and you'll also usually find an interview where they see they're never leaving. Bale, Campbell, whoever.

Throw in the fact of Wembley, transition to another new ground, potential for Toby, Rose, Dier and others to leave, that it's realistic to think Pochettino could be poached within the next few years too going on typical manager timelines, it's entirely understandable to think we may have a season where we fall off. And then we won't be moving forward.

It really is just logical thinking. It's far more of a leap to suggest he'll stay. Which is why it would be so oh-my-god amazing if he did – it would defy logic. Which is why it's such a talking point. It doesn't become a talking point because some people on a forum discuss it.

Yes it is possible that the majority of our team will not retire at the club.

But that is completly different to ENIC actively selling our players for their own profit.

Certainly needs to be a balance maintained for the perception of the fans.

So when we sell a player it is for ENIC to make a profit? When we don't sell it is merely for the perception for the fans?

People really can twist anything into anything.

The English press are a joke - one of the best forward players for some time has been developed at Tottenham Hotspur and all they can write about is what club he should go too. Its a disgrace - lets not show this great player and club as an example to any young player, knuckle down work hard and you can achieve your success. Surely enough has been learnt from Man City + Chelsea hoovering up the best young talent only to be never seen again as they don't get playing time. It is really depressing. Tottenham in the last few years have really developed a great English core, Walker, Rose, Dier, Winks, Mason, Alli, Kane, Lennon, Livermore, Trippier, Kyle-Walker Peters all have contributed to England. However the English press drool over, City + Guardiola, Utd + Mourinho, Pool + Klopp.

Our model is the same as monaco's. Buy young exciting players develop them. Then when they reach their peak in value sell and reinvest the money in to a few exciting youngsters.
This is how we have progressed over the last 7-8 years. Even though other clubs have invested far more money than us.
Hopefully (with the new stadium and regular cl football) we can start winning trophies and match the bigger teams finacially. We are not there yet.
Any player that wants to leave who has reached their peak value we need to sell. Not just to get as much money as we can (which will go back into the squad anyway) but so that we remain attractive to the top young talent. As they will see us as part of their progression rather than actively blocking their career.

Heartily sick that every segment on Harry Kane on TalkSport has the presenter or co-presenter musing as to whether Kane will go to Spain 'if Spurs don't win anything in the next couple of seasons.'

Tbf, when asked this morning Harry Redknapp did say that he is the kind of lad who feels comfortable at Spurs so there isn't any guarantee that he will want to leave.
