Hope he's fully fit for the Hammeroids. I know FL scored last night, but as one of my kids said, if he hadn't run offside, he wouldn't have had the pace to beat the defenders to the ball. We need Harry.

All this, is he, isn’t he world class, and apparently, having to win trophies is the only way you can be in that bracket, do we think the likes of Collymore and co would have described Batistuta as world class back when he was in his 30’s and only had one Italian Cup winners medal listed in his club honours?

I agree with you, although out of interest I checked Batistuta's record, and he'd won about nine things by the age of 30.

Garth Crooks really pisses me off.

Garth Crooks' team of the festive period: Ryan, Walker, Lingard, Sanchez, Kane
...
Forward - Harry Kane (Tottenham)

Tottenham forward Harry Kane is the first player in Premier League history to score six hat-tricks in a single calendar year
It was a superb hat-trick by Harry Kane against Burnley and another one against Southampton four days later. To score 56 goals in a calendar year is some achievement but shouldn't the best finisher in the country be talking about winning trophies instead of breaking records in his post-match interviews?

Scoring goals is Kane's job and he does it exceptionally well we know that. Records are for statisticians especially when your trophy cabinet is bare. Congratulations Harry, you broke Alan Shearer's record. Of course we should doff our cap to such an achievement but the game has always been about the team and not those who administer the finishing touches.

Meanwhile, players like Raheem Sterling and Victor Moses (who I am often told are not in Kane's class) are adding domestic and European titles to their names. Need I say more?

How does Crooks putting Harry in his team get misconstrued as racist? If anything I see that as implied criticism of Moses.

I think the comparison with Sterling is valid given their similar age and recent impacts, they are both big hitters.

Moses however is not. He has made an impact much later in his career but had been on the books at Chelsea for years before he did so.

What is the objection all these old boys network have to building a team and interfering in the private financial relationships between a player and his employer?

We don't often hear them saying players are underperforming and they don't deserve their current contracted pay.

DailyFail reporting we are going to give him 200k a week.

Not posting link as don’t like them
After serializing poch's book - I wonder if they have a good relationship with the club and get some good info....

How the hell do the media know seriously?

If I'm Kane and I'm not been told but the media know I will probably be itching to ask. If I'm told I will probably be in a difficult spot as well now that the rest of the team mates are so far below me in the wage bill with this being reported so early. Either way such reports have no benefits at all to the club IMO..

We are probably the busiest club in the PR department. Heart goes to Poch as well for the constantly quashing rumours other than coaching..

Really fuck all these media shit.

this comes about a week after they printed the supposed salaries of the highest earning players in the league, making a point that Kane was quite far down the list (all but 3 above him came from the expected 5 clubs...).

They've created a story, now creating the next part of it, and there will be more to come with talk of swap deals, Real Madrid again, probably stalling on a deal, happy to stay if Spurs can win a shiny thing etc etc.

That list was probably guesswork anyway, and so is this - based on the fact that Spurs have been pretty good at upgrading contracts and with a new stadium and new income available soon-ish there is a good chance the club will do it again.

They don't. They're fishing for gullible fans.
There is obviously an element of that, but some of the better journos do have their contacts at clubs that they can get some info from. Neil Ashton was saying last weekend on the radio that he’d heard Kane would be signing a big new contract,
