Never in a million years was that a dive and never in a million years will the diving panel charge him because it wasn't a dive, if you look at that incident and compare it to the two players that have been banned this incident for diving is not even in the same universe as the those incidents.

There was contact but I don't think it was enough for him to go over. He milked it for all that it was worth.

If the shoe was on the other foot, most people on here would be screaming blue murder.

(Sorry went Idiom crazy there)

In those circumstances I don't think there needs to be much contact, by the keeper rushing out he is obstructing Kane from getting the ball which is why you see so many of those decisions given to the attackers when they're one on one with keepers.

Now, I close my eyes and I picture myself lifting the Premier League trophy at our new stadium with my mates. I’d trade the next 100 goals for that feeling. - Harry Kane
Oh how I'd love that...

I’d be pissed, but I’d also realise that the likes of Lineker, Owen, Klinsmann, and others have won that type of penalty hundreds of times between them. Vardy won about 6 of them their freakish season before he got done for diving.

The most blatant user of it was the old Everton and Palace striker Andy Johnson, who tried it almost every week.

Christ goosebumps and shivers all over reading where he talks about scoring the winner in his first NLD then seeing the video.

I was in Vietnam at the time after 5 months travelling. Tried to find where the Spurs Vietnam supporters were watching the game, got a taxi 30 minutes out into the middle of nowhere, dropped off outside a closed cafe with all the lights off.

Knock on the door some guy lets me into a dark room, 2 minutes to kick off, no TV, no people, no nothing, thinking I'm gonna end up dead, or even worse miss the game...30 seconds to kick off a huge projector screen rolls down and the place floods with 30-40 Vietnamese guys in Spurs shirts. Sort of say hello and a few awkward nods and gestures.

Kane scores the winner, tables are up turned, bowls of pho and beers are flying all over the place. The one guy who speaks a little English is conducting an interview with me in front of everyone and they're all coming up to shake my hand and try their best English phrases on me and talk about Spurs. My favourite moment in 12 months of travelling. Luckily thought to get a photo before the rest of them left. :shy:

Still in touch with them sending photos from WHL, Wembley and helping them to get official supporter club status.

And all thanks to Harry Kane

Of course he isn't the only one but he at least milked all of the contact.

Well I would disagree as the attacker could just jump over the goalkeeper and then score. The keeper wouldn't be obstructing the player as he is making an attempt to gather the ball or stop the shot.

If the goalkeeper wasn't there then the attacker wouldn't need to jump over him which is my point, if the GK is rushing out he needs to win the ball otherwise you're obstructing an easy chance for the striker to get the ball and score.

By that rationale then when a defender shields the ball off the pitch for a goal kick, that is obstruction.

"After accepting applause and a specially commissioned pair of boots from his Tottenham team-mates at Anfield, Kane immediately turned his focus to 200 league goals for his boyhood club. And he is confident his goal-scoring rate will increase over the coming seasons.

Kane said: “200 goals has to be the aim and hopefully quicker than I got to 100. It is nice, I am going to enjoy the moment, but let’s see how many I can get this year and go from there. Hopefully I can get better and better. I am 24 years old, that’s not young but it’s not old so I’ve still got a lot of learning to do. I feel I am getting more experience year by year and I feel I am getting stronger and more physical and hopefully that continues. I will always keep trying to work hard and to get better.”

Newcastle United erected a statue outside at St James’ Park in recognition of Shearer’s exploits. Kane may not be immortalised at Tottenham yet - “I’m not thinking about a statue, I’m just thinking about what’s best for the team,” he insisted – but the striker admits he is driven by the challenge of remaining the league’s highest goalscorer.

“I’ve said that from the very first time I got put on the scene,” he added. “That is what separates good players from great players: can you do it consistently year after year? Can you get better and better when people don’t expect you to? That’s what I’ve done so far and that is what I will continue to strive to do. That is always my mindset to never let up. It is a short career and I’ll try to do as much as I can in it.” "

Concentrate on those words in bold, folks.

I make that at least a guaranteed 4 seasons and more likely the rest of his career.

Fabulous article. I never realised that about tom Brady. Really fascinating stuff about him and his effect on Kane.

Amazing, I'd love to look back on this quote in 10 years time with Harry beating Jimmy Greaves and Bobby Smith to all time leading scorer for us. Amazing record when you consider how young he is.

A really good read and truly genuine lad. Despite being released from his contract with Arsenal, he does not held any grudges against them. He only want to show them wrong and I'm happy for his contribution over the last seasons. Fact is that we wouldnt be where we are right now with out him. May we continue to blessed with the great Harry Houdini for many more season to come
