Poch:

We need to wait until tomorrow. After tomorrow he will have a scan in his ankle. Of course he suffered an injury that is in the same ankle as he suffered before. But I hope and we hope it’s not a massive issue. We need to wait until tomorrow.

Whisper it softly. Whispers within not serious at all. Yikes:barefoot:

I hope I have not been premature. I could be wrong here, as a whisper I heard.

I don't understand why Begovic "isn't to blame" (BBC). He slid into Kane hard and totally missed the ball. Same type of challenge that did in Kane's ankle last year.

Sure, the injury itself is unlucky, but I don't understand why Begovic gets a pass because he's a keeper. Anywhere else on the pitch that would have been at least a booking.

Cheers for the info Herc. No need for anyone to panic unless Poch comes out in his next press conference and says it's a bad one. Good signs that he was able to walk around on it

I’m sure this has been said before but didn’t we go on a winning run when he was out this time last year? Maybe it makes us okay with a bit more versatility and with Lamela/Moura to come in rather than Janssen, also a bit more dynamism.

Each time he does the ankle the ligaments are more stretched and so the recovery time is shorter as long as he has enough strength to keep it stable. At some point (like Bale) it may eventually need an op.

If I remember correctly the 1st time he was stretched off and was 6 weeks. Last time walked off was 4 weeks. Also didn’t really look in any pain at all. Even if he was fit was Swansea almost tempting to give him a 3 week break.

If it's the same ankle as before, there may be a mental element to him coming off. A knock to his confidence, or a bit of fear at the memory of last time. Fingers crossed.

There’s no question at this point of season with World Cup round the corner. If he has any doubt he’s gonna come off.

Did you see how his ankle bent under the keeper ?

Having just seen the still images of his ankle doesn't look pretty.
I was pissed off international break was coming up as not a fan of these friendlies, now all of a sudden I'm delighted!

There's a pic of him leaving on crutches but not sure if it was based on the last injury he got.

I did find it curious he was standing at the halfway line for a spell before ultimately going down the tunnel - surely if it was anything more than a mere sprain we would have signalled him off ASAP without a second's thought of him actually returning to the field of play?

I'm speculating as much as the next person ultimately - fingers, toes, cocks, you name it are crossed that you are right Herc.

With an impact injury they’ll always put the protective boot on, and have them on crutches to take the weight off it until the scan. It’s just common sense.

Yeah agreed but was surprised as he walked down the tunnel in what appeared to be with ease.

Could be a blessing anyway as he needs a bit of a rest
