Fans taking the piss is fair game but pretty weird how obsessed their players are.

Thats at least the 4th professional footballer for Liverpool to try and make a funny comment about a situation unrelated to them that they've managed to turn into being about them.

Way more pathetic then claiming a goal you think you've scored imo

They're just playing to the crowd. Their followers are Liverpool fans who would lap it up in the same way we would if our players were taking the piss out of them.

Yeah fair dues he can tweet what he wants, but for me it highlights the ridiculousness of the situation.

One player is getting ripped from all angles, in what must not be a pleasurable experience for a human being, for claiming a goal they believe they scored and others are getting praised for taking the piss out of said fellow professional.

Only one of those actions is unprofessional and tbh I'd find it a bit weird if our players were still tweeting about a situation none of them were involved in a week after the initial event.

This has all the ingredients of the primary purpose of sports media in this country: to sabotage England’s hopes at an international tournament.

World Cup coming up? Check
England’s best player? Check
Player is still young? Check
Situation is barely newsworthy? Check

This isn’t an anti Kane thing or an anti Spurs thing, this is just what the media do in this country. Gazza, Beckham, Rooney, they’ve all had this treatment too. You can bet your life if this had been Vardy, who is widely accepted as a scumbag, not expected to start for England, and plays for a club who spent 1/2 this season fighting relegation, nobody would even remember it a week later.

I think kane had been poor all year. Hasn't scored any decent goals, all tap ins and scrappy goals. He was much better last year. Don't think he's scored one goal from outside the box this year
I agree with you, 36 goals for the season is not good enough!

Yeah because not supporting the petty and pathetic is more embarrassing than the petty and pathetic.

Kane decided to become a distraction when we could least afford one.

Disregarding the rest of another one of your shit posts on this topic, what does the last part even mean? The league is effectively dead rubber at this point. You are just spewing hyperbole for the sake of your argument.

England's talisman going into the WC yet a lot of fans would still be happy for him to fail in it so they could stick the boot in I bet. We're a funny country sometimes.

It’s pure jealousy and tall poppy syndrome. It’s the first mistake Kane has made. But still amazing how people have jumped on it including other players and media. And seem quite happy to rip the piss out of somebody who’s been a model professional to this point. Just something very weird in the British psyche to want to destroy anybody that is successful.

It’s interesting where the line between banter and bullying is, cause this reaction has been well over the top.

The Liverpool players themselves have had a field day with this on twitter, the precious twats they are. As if it wasn't just a few years ago they were brandishing t-shirts for racist biter. Funny enough if we win our game in hand we are level on points. We shall see who has the last laugh.

Is it just me that finds this all really boring now? It was probably funny for about a day.

I'm pretty sure my opinion wouldn't change if I supported anyone else either.

It's just a meme that's gone viral, nothing to do with bullying, don't be so precious lol.

Kane will brush it off as banter, he's had worse setbacks in his career then this. As I said before the whole country will be up his arse in about 2 months anyway.

Fully expect someone with his mentality to overcome it and push on.

The funny thing is I could care less. And I would bet good money, that if it were Aguero or Salah or Lukaku who did what Harry has done, you wouldn’t see the Spurs players sending out tweets like that. I just think it’s childish and stupid. It’s classic pinboard material. Harry already plays with a bit of a chip on his shoulder. This crap from the Liverpool players will not go unnoticed by him or our squad. They will use it as motivation to some small extent. I just don’t see the point of the players getting in their digs. Has Harry done it to them? To me it feels like an effort to bring him down a couple of pegs cos of how seemingly squeaky clean he comes across. And yeah, so what? I don’t like it. Cos he is one of our own, and I don’t like it when anyone takes the piss out of me and mine.

I do not understand the psychology of people who hear a hundred people make a joke and think “wouldn’t it be funny if I made that exact same joke”.

It’s humour without any wit, inventiveness or surprise. The only thing that can be said for it is that you can guarantee a bunch of people will joylessly laugh along in the hope that it will piss someone off.
