Why do people keep asking for Rashford. All his done at the WC is run down blind alleys and into people.
Rashford looked class a couple of years ago but it now looks like he is actually very average and is likely to remain very average.

Thanks to JM for that I would think. Either Mourinho has to leave MU or Rashford does, that's if he wants to progress and reached his best.
Think MP would be good for him, bring him to THFC.

You know for us there though (where his donkey work is much less) he would've just dragged that onto his left side and driven it in the far corner or placed it into the near.

Running around it to get it onto his right foot smacks of someone trying to make sure rather than let his natural instincts take over. Which is understandable given how few actual chances he's had from open play in the tournament and the situation in the game.

This over and over . In his current poor form he didn't do as normal, trusting his left foot and sweeping the ball home swiftly with it, the quicker/simpler option ,no he twisted his body round giving keeper more time to narrow angle and did an awkward soft shot .

He was Onside and VAR would've given him the goal , if indeed that flag was for offside which isn't certain .

It was flagged offside. Hence no corner, and hence no shot on target statistic.

If it had gone in it would have been reviewed and counted. But still, it's actually fine to say it was a good save. Even if you did expect him to score.

He has not been right since he did his ankle. No spark to him. He might have scored goals but he is nowhere near what he was.

Before that actually. About a month before the injury he already seemed to have lost the spark from earlier in the season. He was missing chances he normally would bury and just lacked the all round sharpness he's had for most of the last few years.

Think his workload (and the knocks) have finally caught up to him. But even when at 75% he's still still going to get goals.

Very interested to see how he does this season. Wouldn't shock me to see him back to top form in September. He's a machine.

Harry will learn a lot from this WC. The contrast between him and Mandzukic at the end - both running on empty, and could hardly run. But Mandzukic just stayed in the box, knowing a chance will come, while Kane got deeper and deeper. I think he was trying to help the team, but the biggest way he could of done that was stay in the box, and sniff out an opportunity..

His remit is to drop deep for England and play more as a no10 hence why he's been so deep.

It hasn't worked though. That's what I mean by experience, he'll use it to either influence the manager's tactics or decided himself when to stay in the box.

But we got to the semi-final...… something must have worked for that to happen regardless of the opposition we played.

We scored two goals in open play though. The set piece prowess covered up the fact that our attack didn't really function at all. And that's sort of a crime when you've got possibly the best centre forward in the world up there.

That's nothing to do with Kane dropping deep, the reason he was dropping into midfield was to help out with the creativity, if he played in his usual role and stayed more in the box he would have seen less of the ball. This is what I mean the game plan was for him to drop deeper and assist in trying to create.

I understand that, but what I'm saying is that he'll learn with experience that he helps the team most by being in the box, and seizing on that chance, whenever it comes. So he'll use his status and position to influence the manager to build his tactics around that.

VAR check means it would have stood as I believe he was just onside from the replays if I remember right.

Either way, it was unexpected from Kane, that just shows the level he has set himself, we expect him to finish everything. Subasic was quick to react to the situation which made it harder for Kane.

I doubt VAR would overturn the offside as it looked really close on the replay and Kane's elbow may have been offside (would have to see it again though)

2nd chance is actually worse miss than the 1st. It’s virtually an open goal bar the keeper lying on the ground.

Have we actually scored the most goals(8) for England by a single club at a World Cup ever ? I think we probably have as 11 was most goals in a whole tournament in 1966. This tournament now 12 with a game to play.

Lots of speculation he's carrying an injury. I wouldn't be surprised, he was so lethargic from the 2nd half of Sweden and both games after.
