If people really think kane has been under par due to a positional change they are being incredibly generous to him. Played furthest forward today and looked no better. Not sure why people can’t just admit he’s been poor by his own very high standards and stop making excuses for him. Tbh just shows his class that he’s somehow managed 6 goals when he’s been at about 70%.

Was interesting seeng him slipping when taking his two shots today. Towards the end of the season I noticed he was constantly slipping when shooting. Could his injury have thrown off his balance slightly?

TBH I’m not sure he’s been 100% since his ankle injury. He’s a man in need of a couple of weeks chillaxing. Shame he wasn’t on top form as I think he could have carried us to the final on his own.

Err, you've been making excuses all the tournament for him saying he's tired or injured.

Funny that cause today is the first time I’ve mentioned him being below par. Seems like there’s 2 or 3 people on this forum obsessed with everything I post. Whenever I get a disagree or doh it’s always the same people, slightly weird. I’ll tell you what if you’re really that obsessed just follow me on twitter @coys100 ?

Today he played further forward, but the only way he'd have to clear chances were if he were able to pick up a deflection of a cross or something.

England lack creativity.

Shattered and needs extra time off than he has got from now. Let him miss first bit of season as he won’t take long catching up to speed. Short term pain, long term gain or he will be below standard and burn out

I actually called it at the time and I've got dodgy eyes. I was watching in a little Spanish bar and didn't understand the commentary, I just assumed they were analysing the save every time they replayed it. I now kind of understand the over the top trolling by Liverpool fans - pure ignorance as usual.
Called it during the game, how on earth we didn’t get a corner I’ll never know.
I’d actually be a bit narked if I was in goal, give me my dues!

Should be about 500 pages by the time he wins the Golden Boot, League 1 at best! LOL.

As we progressed in the tournament we controlled the ball less and less. And people wonder why he seemed to struggle.

I'm still completely baffled as to why you wouldn't build your team around the in form striker in the world, and enable him as much as possible. It's on a par with Hodgson having him take corners by playing him as a playmaker to enable far inferior players like Sterling and Lingaard.

Completely agree, the other players should of also tried to find him more. With Kanes specific skill set we needed to prioritise him in the attacking areas more. Like Ronaldo demands from his teams.

Perhaps Southgate had a feeling that the players he had in the squad were going to struggle to feed Kane - come to think of it how many times did Sterling or Lingard make the completely wrong pass?! Therefore he felt that getting Kane on the ball deeper was a way to obtain possession higher up the pitch rather than try pass our way up top.

Let's face it England have been truly rotten over the years by adopting a possession based strategy, simply because our movement and ability to pick a pass has been dreadful.

I honestly think Southgate thought that Kane getting on the ball as much as possible was his strategy on countering this as we all know how good Kane is at bringing others into play, plus he wins free-kicks in dangerous positions. Ultimately it's not a strategy that has longevity in it because Kane will get tired and we all want him to be getting chances rather than starting them but I could see Southgate's ideas. I actually think England are much better when more direct and I hope that continues.

As soon as either Winks, Grealish, Maddison, et al develop and look capable we need to get Kane back to where he belongs.

Harry has not been right since his ankle injury. Whether he came back too early or what I don’t know. He just isn’t on it. Timing is off. Just no spark there.
Southgate is quite fortunate that things have gone well as he is playing half the team out of their normal position.

I feel Harry has phases when he isn't scoring - it has happened before. He often seems a little slow to get going at the start of a season. I wonder if he was in one of these phases later on in the World Cup. I think he prefers the colder weather.

When England's most creative player was arguably Tripps, you have to wonder what the rest of the midfield were doing.

Harry was feeding off scraps for the majority of the tournament.
