That was an interesting stat. I'd like to see some on sprints and average top speed. Maybe even distance covered. That'll speak more directly to his fitness.

I saw distance covered was virtually exactly the same. No idea on sprints. I always had an opinion that Kane probably did shoot a bit too much. And wondered how many good positions in a game we squandered and would we actually score even more if he passed at crucial moments. Of course in reality it’s impossible to tell what is actually best for the team. But as long as the TEAM are scoring at a reasonable rate which we are then it may not be as detrimental as some make out. I think we’ve scored in 29 of our last 30 PL matches. Only time we didn’t was WBA (a) and then you have to go right back to NLD. After 10 games if our total goals are up Kane shooting still down but his assists up, then it’s an interesting conundrum.

Actually just checked :

Since injury as a team in PL we’ve scored 21 in 11.
In the 11 games before his injury we scored 23.

So as a team his shooting less has barely effected our team total.

When he first came onto the scene, he was scoring a lot of goals by picking it up 20 yards out, getting it out of feet, and hitting it low across goal into the bottom corners. I remember thinking of that as a trademark Harry Kane goal. Feels like a long time since he's done that, however

He doesnt get the space now thats why. As soon as he gets it there is a centre back on him.

Its why I've been advocating for quite a while to go back to two up top (like the partnership he had with Dele) and fortunately Poch has pushed Lucas up there. Hes looked better the last couple of games for it if you ask me. Shame we dont have another proper stiker for him to play up top with really.

Without doubt Harry has been nowhere near the devastating front man he was 18 months ago. Yes, he's scored goals but even an average striker would get a fair few goals due to the amount of chances we create as a team. Previously Harry was blasting shots goal-ward any time he had the merest sniff of a chance, and snappily too before any keeper could properly set themselves. It's obvious that either the injury is taking longer than expected to recover from, or his return was done in haste in an eagerness to overtake Salah to the Golden Boot and make the World Cup.
I also get the feeling that our Harry is rather a sensitive chap and that he's still suffering from the knock his confidence and self esteem took due to the hullabaloo and mockery he received over that Stoke goal. Whatever it is, he's a ponderous imitation of the ruthless striker who scored seven in two games at the end of the 2016/17 season to snatch the golden boot from Lukaku. I do think he has an awful lot on his plate at the moment, he perhaps needs to go right back to basics so he can regain his mojo and be the outstanding player we know he's capable of.

I agree but does he and more importantly Poch know that?

I have no doubts they do. Often we hear months later that certain players often carry injuries.
My concerns are that Harry’s personal ambitions are detrimental to him in the short term. Poch on the other hand has his own pressures to prove he can win trophies now and looks at the alternatives available in the squad. He wasn’t supported by Levy in the summer, that’s for sure. Whatever rhetoric comes out of the club. That’s why I’m still fuming that Levy shafted Poch big time.
These are the kind of ramifications that result.

I'm sure everyone on here is getting sick of me continually posting videos from Tifo Football but they really are a great channel ?

I think it was Kane watching this video that caused him to go ape shit and then score 9 more goals during the rest of the season, with 7 coming in his last two games. Unless I'm not mistaken, I believe lukaku didn't add to his 24 goals at this point of the season.

But we all know Kane is by far a superior striker to lukaku, and always has been since Kane broke into the spurs XI

lukaku really should be unplayable but for me he lacking in the mental side of the game. Kane is completely different, supremely confident and tremendously hard worker. ?

Kane is just a much better footballer all round in almost every respect. Also, I'm in the camp of those that believe something ain't right physically with Kane, and hasn't been for a while. That being said, and despite this, he's still way ahead of Lukaku.

Your right about Kane....something is definitely not right with Kane physically at the moment. I don't know if its an injury or fatigue but something is not right ?

Wearing gold boots tomorrow and will collect his golden boot award. A proud moment for us all I think.

Not gonna lie, if I were an opposition player I’d want to kick him off the park for wearing those but then again anything other than black leather boots were met with the same reaction back in my day :X3:

Harry Kane talks too much. Erikesen and Alli has started doing the same yabber yabber.
Get your head down sir and let your action on the pitch do the talking. Enough of the nonsense:
1)We are title challengers
2)Other teams better watch out against us
3)Dont underestimate us
4)We have proven we can beat anyone after big wins
5)We dont need signings because we Strong!

He has been off since the ankle injury in March. Timing is not quite right and tends to think about what he is going to do rather than do it instinctively. Consequently he gets caught with the ball quite often.

Just watched the PL club 100 goals. The last few months have actually made me slightly forget how good he was/is. The player I watched yesterday looked 5 years older. Like a player entering their twilight years and trying to find other ways to impact a game. I have no idea what’s up with him, find it hard to believe tiredness could impact his game that much at just having turned 25. I was brushing the criticism off, but for whatever reason he’s miles off the player he was. If it carries on I’ll be surprised if he gets 20 PL goals this season. Pochettino must see it, needs to get to the bottom of it and quick.

Just as a note his top speed before injury was 33 km/h after he came back end last season was about 27 km/h. During World Cup he was 25 km/h I’ve even seen as low as 22 km/h. No idea what this season is but I doubt he’s been above 27km/h.

I agree he has looked completely off the ball since coming back in March from that ankle injury compared to what he was before the injury happened. He will still get lots of goals because he's an intelligent footballer, and still a world class player, but I do wonder what is up with him.

There is no need whatsoever for him to play against Switzerland in a meaningless friendly this week, fair enough last night was Nations League but they should let him have a few days off now and get a bit of rest.
